Kitab Nazhom Aqidatul Awam (عقيدة العوام) merupakan kitab yang berisi syair-syair (nadham) tentang Tauhid, kitab ini dikarang oleh Syaikh as-Sayyid al-Marzuqiy. Nama lengkap beliau adalah Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Sayyid Ramadhan al-Marzuqiy al-Hasaniy wal Husainiy al-Malikiy, al-Mishriy al-Makkiy,, dilahirkan sekitar tahun 1205 H di Mesir. Sepanjang waktu beliau bertugas mengajar di Masjid Mekkah. Karena kepandaian dan kecerdasannya, beliau kemudian diangkat menjadi Mufti Mazhab Maliki di Mekkah menggantikan Sayyid Muhammad yang wafat sekitar tahun 1261 H. Syaikh Ahmad al-Marzuqiy juga terkenal sebagai seorang Pujangga dan dijuluki dengan Abu Alfauzi..Salah satu guru beliau adalah asy-Syaikh al-Kabir as-Sayyid Ibrahim al-‘Ubaidiy, beliau adalah ulama yang berkonsentasi pada Qira’ah al-Asyrah (Qira’ah 10).
Dan diantara murid-murid beliau adalah Syaikh Ahmad Damhan (1260 – 1345 H), Syaikh as-Sayyid Ahmad Zaini Dahlan (1232 – 1304 H), Syaikh Thahir at-Takruniy dan lain sebagainya.
Salah satu kitab yang beliau karang adalah kitab Aqidatul Awam. Beliau mengarang kitab ini, bermula ketika beliau mimpi berjumpa Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam dan para Sahabatnya pada akhir malam Jum’at pertama di bulan Rajab.
