"Тартюф, или Обманщик" - гениальная пьеса, вышедшая из-под пера талантливейшего французского комедиографа XVII века - Жан-Батиста Мольера. Первый вариант этого произведения увидел свет 12 мая 1664 года, и был встречен волной недовольства со стороны французского духовенства, которое усмотрело в пьесе сатиру на себя. Произведение подверглось запрету. Мольеру пришлось ещё несколько раз переделывать сюжет, и лишь пять лет спустя была наконец представлена окончательная редакция этого произведения.
