Samin-News diambil dari nama salah satu suku yang ada di kawasan gunung kendeng Jawa Tengah.
Nama Samin yang lekat di kalangan tanah jawa adalah karakter yang menunjukkan kejujuran, Kepolosan, dan tidak ada kepentingan apapun demi untuk kepentingan individu, hanya saja yang terjadi selama ini untuk nama Samin selalu dijadikan oleh pihak-pihak terkait demi untuk kepentingan tertentu.
Lahirnya media Samin-News hanya ingin menunjukkan karakter dan jati diri sifat Samin, sekaligus untuk mengangkat derajat nama Samin agar selalu dikenal dan tidak hilang ditelan masa.
