PV fri er et alternativ til Permanentvandring (PV) en turmarsj i regi av Norges Turmarsjforbund med lokale arrangører. Arrangementet er tilknyttet IVV. Permanentvandringen er en marsj som kan gås hver dag hele året. Det gis ett stempel i deltakerbeviset pr. kvartal. Max fire pr. år. Alle kilometer godskrives og stemples i kilometerbeviset etter hver runde. OBS! Kun en runde pr dag pr PV.Man oppsøker startpunkt, registrer seg, tar med løypebeskrivelse og følger oppsatt løype, kort eller lang. Etter at marsjen er unnagjort stemples kortene og betaler startkontingent.

Med PV FRI kan man starte og avslutte vandringen hvor man vil. Marsjene blir lagret under historikk og man kan samle opp før man drar til ordinært startsted og registrerer seg, betaler og stempler. Med PV Fri finner man alle permanentvandringene korte og lange og kan gå hvor man vil i den kommunen den ordinære permanent vandringen er registret.
