這個故事是說：『有個小女孩時常帶著她奶奶在生日時送她的一頂小紅帽，這頂小紅帽戴在她頭上再合適不過了，於是大家都喊她「小紅帽」。有一天，媽媽讓她把糕餅等一些食物送給住在另一個村莊的生病的奶奶。小紅帽於是從家裏出發了。去奶奶家的路需要穿過森林。森林裡有一隻大灰狼，想把小紅帽給吃了，卻又不敢在光天化日下這麼做...』
