“আপনি কি পৃথিবীতে এমন কাউকে সৃষ্টি করবেন যে ফেতনা সৃষ্টি করবে এবং রক্তপাত ঘটাবে? অথচ আমরা নিয়ত আপনার গুণকীর্তন করছি এবং আপনার পবিত্র সত্তাকে স্মরণ করছি?” তখন আল্লাহ বলেন “নিঃসন্দেহে আমি জানি, যা তোমরা জান না।”
আল্লাহ তাঁকে মাটি থেকে সৃষ্টি করেন। তারপর তাঁর দেহে প্রাণ সঞ্চার করেন। হাওয়াকে সৃষ্টি করা হয় আদমের পাঁজর থেকে। সৃষ্টির পর তাঁদের আবাস হয় বেহেশত বা জান্নাতে । মানুষ যেহেতু সকল সৃষ্টির সেরা তাই আল্লাহ ফেরেশতাকুলকে আদেশ করেন আদমকে সিজদা করার জন্য। ইবলিশ ব্যতীত সকল ফেরেশতা এই আদেশ প্রতিপালন করেন। কুরআনে বলা হয়েছে,আমি আদমকে পৃথিবীতে আমার প্রতিনিধি নিযুক্ত করিব-আল বাকারা
