5 ★I am totally addicted to this game! Even if your opponent hasn't played yet you can still play and I enjoy the new colored tiles and challenges etc. The down side is that sometimes the game is a little buggy and I have several games that seem to be frozen or something (unplayable) and I am unable to delete them. Aside from that, thanks for the brain workout and fun pass time! 🙂
3 ★The game itself is great and lots of fun. However, the new platform for ads NEEDS TO CHANGE! I don't mind ads, but I do mind that I can't back out of most of them. Trying to X out or rollback results in the ad opening the play store or Chrome, repeatedly, and I have to force stop all apps to make it stop since it keeps popping up as my active screen. I will stop using the app if this spam-style ad platform doesn't change soon.
1 ★Ads after every move, very annoying. Some are 30 seconds long and you cannot exit out of. So, I end up closing the app and reopening (There are also back to back ads). It is also stuck on Solo challenge. The game is over, but it still says processing. I have given this game many chances and hoped for improvement on the developers part, but none. They have let a good game go bad. If you like long ads, this is the game for you! I think it's obvious they don't pay attention to the reviews.
3 ★I enjoy playing Words with Friends. However, I am only giving it 3-Stars because there are several issues that make playing very frustrating and need to be addressed. Many times an error message 'Something went wrong' appears. When you click OK, the game freezes, you must exit, restart the game and your points are lost! Another issue, I played a friend 20-minutes ago and I keep getting messages that 'You must play before your game is forfeited '. What happened to 24-hours?
2 ★The app is not great. The game itself is okay, but it's not good enough to make up for the crashing and ads. I wouldn't even mind the ads if the x's were large enough to close out of the ads after they're finished. I am very petite and have small fingers and I still cannot consistently hit the x on my first try. You also have to buy several features that were previously free (e.g. hindsight).
2 ★I would give this app 5 stars BUT many of the multiple ads freeze & do not have any way to exit other than completely closing the app & reloading it. I lose time constantly waiting for ads to quit or closing app in order to play. Several years ago, a one time fee of $9.99, I believe, allowed for a permanent add-free game. Now the price is $12.99 for 30 days. Do the math. That's a high price. Messages to tech support garner robotic responses that are of little help, if at all.
3 ★This game can be lots of fun, but be warned that the free version has started adding longer ads. The ads used to be 15 seconds or less, now they exceed 30 seconds. Also they give you little ways to "cheat", like giving you hints and letting you swap out letters without losing a turn, etc.; I feel that effects the integrity of the game. I don't use those functions, but that doesn't mean my opponents are not.
1 ★I'm done with this app until Zynga addresses the multiple issues that have been repeatedly brought up by users, especially the ads that are popping up mid-turn. I thought I had downloaded malware until I read other complaints here. 'Hiddhorse' appears to be the culprit. I've had to close the app entirely to get back to my games, only to have them interrupted again a couple of turns later. I've cleared the cache, uninstalled and re-installed - you name it - it's like a virus that won't go away.
5 ★I really enjoy this game. I ended up purchasing the upgrade so that I didn't see all the adverts. that was about 4+ years ago. I do wish more of my friends played it. But thanks to the Lightning Round you can play even when your friends are not. Occasional hiccup but nothing severe with upgrades. *I do hope that the developers slow down with changes though and don't stray too far away from the actual game. That would be my only real critique.
2 ★Frustrating. I like to play the solo games to pass the time, but do you have to make them so freaking hard? Almost impossible to beat sometimes, then its 6 hours until a freeplay. Really annoying. Games are supposed to be fun, not stressful. Maybe lighten up on the solo game difficulty and shorten the waiting period between games. And I am not even mentioning the ads, everyone else has already covered it.
4 ★Three negatives 1. It ends the game too quickly at times when more letters can be played to win the game. 2. When the game is complete and the scores says you won, all of a sudden, it adds the score to have your opponent win. 3. A drop down constantly apperears saying to play the word radar. Very annoying. please stop that! Overall, it truly is a fun game to play. Brain exercise!
2 ★It seems each time I do an upgrade the game gets cheesier and sneakier. I've mistakenly spent a couple hundred coins clicking on a flashing button or bar trying to get to screen where I can actually just play the game. You know it's a problem when you spend 50% of your time with ads, 40% with all the silly bells and whistles, and only 10% playing the actual game. It's there a way to play the game as it was 10 years ago?
