ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರತ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಸಂಘವು ತನ್ನ 34 ನೇ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಮೂಲತಃ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಕಾಯ್ದೆಯಡಿ ನೋಂದಾಯಿತವಾದ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರತ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಸಂಘವು ಬದಲಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕಾಲಕ್ಕ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ತನ್ನ ಸಂಘಟನಾ ಸ್ವರೂಪವನ್ನು ಮೂಲ ಆಶಯಕ್ಕೆ ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗದಂತೆ ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ. ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಬಹುತೇಕ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಂಘವು 80 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಗೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಕಾಲ ತನ್ನ ಸಂಘಟನಾ ಕ್ರೀಯಾಶೀಲತೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಯ್ದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಿರುವುದು ಒಂದು ಸಾಧನೆಯೇ ಸರಿ.ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರತ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳ ಜೊತೆ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ವೃತ್ತಿಪರ ವಾಗಿ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಜ್ಞಾನ ಮಟ್ಟನವನ್ನು ಕಾಲ ಕಾಲಕ್ಕೆ ಉನ್ನತೀಕರಣಗೊಳಿಸುವ ರಚನಾತ್ಮಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಘವು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯತ್ತ ಸಾಗಿದೆ. ಪ್ರತಿವರ್ಷ ಆಯೋಜಿಸುವ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರತ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನವು ಇಂತಹ ರಚನಾತ್ಮಕ ಕೆಲಸ ಗಳ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಗ್ಗಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಮುಂದುವೆರೆದಿವೆ. ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳು, ಜನಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳು, ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಸಚಿವರುಗಳು ಹಲವಾರು ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಹಕ್ಕೋತ್ತಾಯ ಗಳಿಗೆ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸಿರುವುದು ದಾಖಲಾರ್ಹ. ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ. ಕೊಪ್ಪಳ, ಮಂಡ್ಯ, ಹಾಸನ, ಬಾಗಲಕೋಟೆ, ಮಡಿಕೇರಿ. ಶ್ರವಣಬೆಳಗೊಳ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಅನೇಕ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನಗಳು ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ನೆನಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿಯುವಂತಿವೆ. ಇವುಗಳು ಸಂಘದ ಸಂಘಟನಾತ್ಮಕ ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿವೆ.
