Description

MileCharter for Mobile is a pocket version of our popular MileCharter product, that works with routes that start at your location. You can use it to find the fastest routes to the closest locations for customers or deliveries, using current road conditions. Alternatively you can use it as a optimum multi-stop route planner.

MileCharter is typically given a set of potential destinations (e.g. customers) and MileCharter will find the closest to your current GPS location, and calculate the driving distance and estimated travel time using current road conditions. As well as current traffic conditions, there is the option to use pessimistic or optimistic driving conditions.

An alternative use, is to find the best (optimum) route order for the day's destination locations. This is often called the "Traveling Salesman Problem".

Once you have selected the destination with one button press, MileCharter can text or call your contact to let them know you are on the way.

The destination and contacts information can be imported directly from your Android Contacts list, imported from vCard(s), or entered manually. These destinations are then stored in a master list for re-use on other days. This saves a lot of time if you visit the same locations multiple times. Once imported, you can always modify a destination. For example, your contact might change their phone number, or the address might change.

At the beginning of the day, simply select your required destinations from the master list and/or add new destinations. These do not necessarily have to be the day's destinations, but destinations that you might visit if you were nearby. Then tell MileCharter to perform the calculations. You can then decide which destination to drive to. Typically this will be the first (the closest), but it does not have to be. MileCharter gives you the option to send an SMS text or call the destination, to let them know you are on the way. MileCharter also gives you the option of providing GPSv (sat nav) navigation using Google Maps.

After visiting a destination, you can swipe it to remove it from the day's destinations, and then re-calculate the new closest destinations. Of course your start location has changed, but changing traffic conditions can also modify the travel times and hence closest destination.

Locations can be specified using a street address, a longitude-latitude coordinate, or by selecting a point on a map. Distance units can be listed as miles or kilometers.

Possible applications include sales reps who do not work to a fixed schedule, or making cold call visits. It could also be used by engineers evaluating locations. All of the locations have to be visited in a timely manner, but the order does not matter.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.
