فى احد ايام شهر رمضان .. والساعة الخامسة مساء قبل الافطار بساعة ونصف .. وكان راقدا فى فراشه باحدى غرف مستشفى القصر العينى .. غرفة خاصة يقف على بابها جنديان من جنود البوليس يحمل كل منهما بندقية . واعتدل فوق الفراش ، وبدأ يجمع الصحف اليومية المتناثرة حوله ، ويرتبها الواحدة فوق الاخرى .. وسقطت عيناه للمرة الالف فوق السطور العريضة الحمراء المنشورة فى صدر الصفحة الاولى :” قرار الاتهام فى قضية … “ ولم يتم قرأة السطر العريض ، انما طوى الجريدة بسرعة كما طوى غيرها وقام واقفا واتجه الى الحنفية المثبتة فى جانب من الغرفة .. وبدأ يغسل وجهه وأحنى رأسه وترك الماء ينصب فوقها بقوة كأنما يحاول ان يطفئ نارا تندلع فيها ثم عاد ودفن وجهه فى المنشفة كأنه لايريد ان يرى هذه النار ..رواية فى بيتنا رجل
