Description

This application requires root

DriveDroid allows you to boot your PC from ISO/IMG files stored on your phone. This is ideal for trying Linux distributions or always having a rescue-system on the go... without the need to burn different CDs or USB pendrives.

DriveDroid also includes a convenient download menu where you can download USB-images of a number of operating systems from your phone (like Mint, Ubuntu, Fedora, OpenSUSE and Arch Linux). Around 35 different systems are available at this moment.

You can also create blank USB-images which allows you to have a blank USB-drive. From your PC you can store files onto the USB-drive, but also use tools on your PC to write images to the drive.

Notes
• This application uses features of the kernel that may or may not be available/stable on your phone. Tests have shown most phones work without problems, but please keep in mind yours might not (yet) work out-of-the-box.
• Most kernels support emulating USB drives, some support emulating CD-rom drives and kernels with the right patches support both.
• Most Linux-related ISOs can be booted from USB drives, but some ISOs can only be booted from CD-rom drives or require some kind of conversion.

How to install DriveDroid APK on Android phone or tablet?

Download DriveDroid APK file from ApkClean, then follow these steps:

Update Phone Settings

Go to your phone Settings page
Tap Security or Applications (varies with device)
Check the Unknown Sources box
Confirm with OK

Go to Downloads

Open Downloads on your device by going to My Files or Files
Tap the APK file you downloaded (com.softwarebakery.drivedroid-v0.10.50-ApkClean.apk)
Tap Install when prompted, the APK file you downloaded will be installed on your device.

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).

5 ★wont work on my laptop, it doesnt want to boot via usb mode but only can boot in cd rom mode, but got stuck in windows 10 installation at driver selection. EDIT : Boi i use wrong step to install , now it's real work, i think i don't need to buy flashdisc anymore to install os 😂. Step : Create blank space, give it a name and 3999mb size, create, from your computer burn iso to the storage with rufus, done :)

5 ★Really great tool for those that don't have an USB drive at hand. Working on an Axon 7 from a 256GB Samsung MicroSD. I Installed Windows 10 and many Linux distros.

4 ★nice. im currently trying to fix my laptop using this, its stuck in bios mode. wish there was a way to reset the app. good instructions.

4 ★Awesome app! Works fine on my laptop, but on my pc I get a USB malfunction error on Windows. Both are on Windows 10.

5 ★It doesn't work with DriveDroid test file, but successful with other img, so any iso or img file should work regardless. I am using OnePlus6T LineageOS Rooted. Also, software bakery is down.
