They’re standing face to face. Meet them now.

The Enemy is always a stranger. When he’s no longer a stranger, he ceases to be the Enemy. Now, you can get to know soldiers from opposite sides of the same conflict. These men didn’t want to fight, but they do anyway. They share the same fears — and the same hopes as well.

Thanks to AR technology and the work of war photographer Karim Ben Khelifa, you can meet these soldiers and hear their stories, wherever you are. And what they have to say might change the way you look at the world.

Using your smart phone, you’ll hear both sides of three momentous conflicts: the wars in El Salvador and the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Use the app in an area where you have some room to maneuver, and get up close with each soldier. You’ll feel his presence as he maintains eye contact and shares his version of events, offering a rarely heard perspective on violence and war. If you turn 180 degrees while he’s speaking, you’ll see his enemy standing right there, patiently waiting to tell his side of the story.

The app, together with the travelling VR installation of the same name, proves that you don't need to be living in a war zone to be affected by the conflict.

2 ★I really wanted to engage with this app but I cant get past the screen asking for a code! I have no idea where to get a code, and what its for. I pressed the option for not having a code as well. There was no response no matter what I did. This was very disappointing.

1 ★If on Galaxy S7 it can't access my camera even with my permission, and keeps asking for permission, it's not right.

1 ★Had a school work on this and it only gave me trouble. The UI is terribleand the characters keep saying good bye instead of hello

2 ★Unfortunately the app doesn't work past the screen where you have to enter some code, and there is no way to navigate the app.

3 ★The UI is terrible. For newer phones there's no button to exit out of it so we're stuck on a scream that monopolizes our entire phone. Also will forced into a narration that is idealistic and quite frankly a bit romantic about the concept of war. And its to sanitary about war. Nor Is a conversation about who started the war talked about. Each one of these conflicts sons are Examples Peak colonization. So to commune with the enemies without asking them if they know why they are in the middle of a fight Limits us who are using these apps safely from our bedrooms to the can Subway conceptualization that the brutality between these Individuals on opposing sides is merely brutalization specific to their cultures. Also asking us whether or not we think wars human nature are necessary isn't a Really the right question. You should be asking why do you think we're going to war and who do you think causes these wars. This wars are started majority by men in power will never have to go to these conflicts zones to fight men who are comfortable, men were the privilege to be in charge. Forgetting that was are started because there's an inequity of power and decision making. Cause wars the mechanism of one group of people's understanding of how the world works. The project as well make meaning and clearly A manifestation of this man's own experience. And perhaps since I've never been to be sorry as I can say these things comfortably but I don't believe that it's wholly successful in what the creators trying to address.

3 ★It's look cool but. The app doesn't respond correctly. No exit button. Eachtime I need to restart the phone. Some action are not clickable...
