Some devices have a hardware button for calling assistant. However, these buttons are not compatible with this app. This is because these vendors call a specific assistant instead of the default assistant. Long holding the home button will still work.

With Assistant Shortcuts, it's possible to adjust your assistant button on your phone to a command without root!. You can, for example, view your notifications by calling your assistant.

5 ★I like this app but at first i got some delay and responsiveness so i hate it a little bit but now i tried allowing storage access for this apl and now it works like a charm.

4 ★Exactly what I'm looking for. Quick switch last or previous app. A little buggy, sometime stuck to opened apps list. Not swap successfully.

3 ★I'm using Nokia 7.2 with Android 9, the Google assistant keep blocking me to use other app as default and asked me to change it back, I can do nothing but only switch it back with the assistant button I probably never use, Android 9 suck so do the button.

5 ★it works for what it is im mad at lg for locking the hardware button but thats not the devs fault guys its not the devs fault lg locked your button it works fine if you follow the instructions and understand that at this point the hardware button is locked software gestures work fine
