Description
Button Mapper makes it easy to remap custom actions to your volume buttons and other hardware buttons. Remap buttons to launch any app, shortcut or custom action with a single, double press or long press.Button Mapper can remap most physical or capacitive keys and buttons, such as volume buttons, some assist buttons, and capacitive home, back and recent apps keys. Button Mapper can also remap buttons on many gamepads, remotes and other peripheral devices.
Root is not required for most actions, however some require an adb command from a connected PC if not rooted. Button Mapper does not work when the screen is off unless your device is rooted or you run an adb command.
A few examples of remapping you can do with Button Mapper:

Troubleshooting:
-Make sure Button Mapper accessibility service is enabled and allowed to run in the background

-The options shown in the app depend on the buttons available on your phone. Not all phones have home, back and recents buttons!
This app uses Accessibility services. Accessibility is used to detect when the physical or capacitive buttons are pressed on your device so they can be remapped to custom actions to accommodate your needs. It is not used to see what you type. Button Mapper does not collect or share any of your personal information, it is safe and your privacy is respected.
This app uses the Device Administrator permission. (BIND_DEVICE_ADMIN)
This permission is used to lock the screen if the "Turn screen off" action is chosen. If you want to remove this permission, open Button Mapper, click on the menu (three dots in the upper right corner) and select "Uninstall"

5 ★Great app but I have a Sony Android TV (AF9) and the volume issue is there but I understand this is an OS problem - Could you explain the work around please? - I think I have done what you said in other posts but it's still not working. **Update even when the panel comes up holding down volume doesn't move the volume level, you still have to do individual clicks :(
2 ★Been using for a while on my S10 and Bravo's TV. Since I installed the S10 OneUI 3 beta this app no longer works for Bixby key remapping, the main reason I use the app. I'm sure this will be due to something Samsung has changed. I look forward to future updates which may bring the feature back. I'd love to be able to improve my rating to 5.
5 ★Great app, finally I can make full use of my xiaomi tv remote, now I can program all the shortcut buttons (blue, red, yellow, etc.) on the bottom of the remote. It even allows you to have different actions based on the way you click the button and this all for free! Thanks to the developers!
5 ★Amazing app. On very rare occasions it might not work till u give it a little nudge. UPDATE* (Even with battery optimization and put apps to sleep setting disabled for the app) but this is far and few between. I've used this app for awhile now on a few different phones mainly for toggling the flashlight on and off threw double tapping volume buttons. But was a life saver on disabling my Bixby button on my note 9 and has worked 100% flawlessly in doing so... I highly recommend this tool to anyone
1 ★Add long press and double tab to fingerprint button or add a way for me to do this or I want my money back! Just paid for full version because it had that locked and the other buttons have these actions mappable but fingerprint only has swipe?! My sensor can't even recognize swipes so how am I supposed to edit this?! Would be a 5 star app if I could simply edit my home button! Waist of 5.45$ Edit: I want a refund, I found another app that works and it was free! Will change review if I get refun
5 ★I wanted to use a physical button to take screenshots on my Doogee S68 Pro (Android 9). The app worked just fine for that purpose, but I had to turn on accessibility permission again and again, EVERY TIME I wanted to take a screenshot! EDIT: Thank you for the quick reply and the solution! I forgot to allow the app to run in the background. It works great now!
3 ★It seems to be a great app but anytime I try to assign a Shortcut to a custom button, when I click the shortcut from the list the shortcut is ran and it doesn’t get selected. Specifically I’m observing this with the “Sources” shortcut on a Philips TV

5 ★Is it possible to remap particular button to "Channel up" and "Channel down" function? What will be the "action"? Nvidia Shield and many other remote controllers are missing these two buttons... Is there any HOWTO?

1 ★When I try to select the action to execute for a customized button the app doesn't show me any options, no matter how many times I try changing the categories. This is clearly a bug and it makes the app useless.
