Nato nel 2006 come attività principale dell’Associazione Segni d’infanzia, SEGNI New Generations Festival è un appuntamento unico in Italia, un evento internazionale d’arte e teatro rivolto a bambini e giovani dai 18 mesi ai 18 anni. L’evento è dedicato al mondo delle scuole, delle famiglie e a tutti coloro che amano il teatro, la ricerca e i linguaggi delle arti. Coinvolge spettatori a livello transgenerazionale, e internazionale poiché si rivolge anche a turisti stranieri. Artisti provenienti da vari paesi del mondo si esibiscono in spettacoli, laboratori, percorsi d’arte, performances multidisciplinari in cui musica, pittura, teatro, scultura, danza si mescolano in una continua contaminazione tra le arti e in linguaggi non verbali che sono accessibili a spettatori di ogni età e provenienza.Oltre 300 eventi in 5 giorni nelle più belle location della città di Mantova. Palazzo Ducale, Teatro Bibiena, Sala delle Cappuccine, Palazzo Te, Palazzo Broletto e molti altri spazi della città che si trasformano per l’occasione in spazi teatrali tutti da scoprire.
Ogni anno il festival è rappresentato da un animale che disegnato dai più grandi artisti come Dario Fo, Altan, Bergonzoni, Sanna, Moretti, diventa il simbolo dell’edizione, dando vita ad un’operazione artistica che coinvolge nella realizzazione di un’opera collettiva oltre 5000 partecipanti da tutta Italia.
SEGNI si svolge annualmente a Mantova tra l’ultima settimana di ottobre e la prima di novembre, ha registrato un successo sempre crescente a dimostrazione della necessità di una proposta artistica forte per le nuove generazioni e a garanzia della qualità del progetto artistico ha ottenuto l’Adesione del Presidente della Repubblica sotto forma di Premio di Rappresentanza.
