SMS Backup & Restore Pro is an app that backs up (creates a copy of) SMS & MMS messages and call logs currently available on the phone. It can also restore messages and call logs from already existing backups. This is a Paid no-ads version of the ad-supported free app.Note: This app requires existing backups to be able to restore call logs and messages. It cannot recover anything without existing backups.

- Backup is created locally on the phone by default, but has options to upload to Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive or Email. At no time are the files sent to the developer.
- Please ensure there is a copy of the backup outside the phone before performing a factory reset on the phone.

* Network view and communication: Allows the app to connect to wifi for backup

* Run at start-up: Start scheduled Backups.
* Prevent Phone from Sleeping: To prevent the phone from going to sleep/suspended state while a Backup or Restore operation is in progress.
* Account Information: To authenticate with Google Drive and Gmail for cloud uploads.
* Location: Only requested and used during WiFi direct transfer due to a security requirement on Android.

3 ★Tried the transfer function, the phones side-by-side on the same WIFi connection could not detect each other. Okay try the restore function using the 'from date' option. The restore, for whatever reason constantly reverted to selecting the last backup. Within this screen it was possible to choose the dates I wanted, so it could be argued that the restore worked 🤔.

5 ★Awesome app. I've needed to show messages n phone logs for a legal case, so it was very useful for proving your case! I received $3,786.00. it being a gov subsidized program, medicare, and healthcare company, cigna, pricing for 1 generic med (qty 60), whereby they overcharged me up to $400 month, outrageous! Yet it took 6 months and my tenacity for cigna to payback the funds to me for 1 prescription! Thanks sms backup and restore app pro, $4.99. why aren't prices for apps shown before download?
5 ★I've been using SMS Backup & Restore for years now, and it's worked reliably and consistently across multiple phones and Android versions. My favorite features are the configurable automatic backups, the built-in option to delete messages, and the option to only restore from a certain date forward.
1 ★I tried this app and all it gave me was a bunch of jumbled up symbols, nothing legible. Don't waste your money. Yeah, I tried that to view it too, NOTHING WORKED. So no thank you and my rating remains.
5 ★Used the free version to backup and restore SMS and MMS messages. Expected to lose photos but very pleasantly surprised to see them returned. Bought the paid version to support developers in a very worthy application.

1 ★This does not back up to your email in a readable format. It is all coding. It says you are able to view online and you can't, it is just blank. I am not happy.
5 ★I have used this countless times. When ever I get a new phone, I always copy over my text history (including photos). I find other options do a poor job of bringing over photos, especially with the right time stamps. I run it overnight, and it goes smoothly as long as I make sure I have enough free space in my google drive! Love that this is still working so well.
5 ★Used the free version and found it wonderful, doing exactly the job I wanted it to. There is even a feature to save messages as PDF documents, which is something I particularly wanted to be able to do. Will now try setting up automatic backups to Gdrive, so that I'll always have a copy to restore in the future. Glad I bought the app; I feel I'm supporting developers that have not only done a very good job with the app, but are always prompt and courteous in responding to my questions. 5 stars.
5 ★Don't even bother with other apps. SMS Backup & Restore Pro (SBRP) is worth every penny! I change phones about every 6 months and I've got SMS and MMS messages from 3 years still with me b/c this app lets me move them. I have tried others before and none of them even come close to working as well as SBRP. The others partially work at best and mangle up conversations and freak out when it finds multi-person MMS conversations. The real trick with this is to either pop the SIM out of your old device (or put in airplane mode) then do the backup and store to cloud, etc. SBRP automates this for you. Then get your new device ready by fully updating (system, and apps) and install SBRP.. Don't put the your SIM into new phone yet. Retrieve your old phone backup from cloud (or wherever) and use SBRP to restore all your messages. Run your normal messaging app and let it get to know all the new messages that have suddenly shown up. Once that's complete, which may take a while, then you can put in the SIM and start using your new phone. Hasn't failed me yet in at least 5 upgrades. Also, setup a backup schedule. Google should just buy this app and make it part of Android's backup and restore.
