The "Immersive Mode" itself is a awesome feature right? But it's really annoying
that some apps don't make use of this beautiful way to enjoy a bigger screen.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could define the way it works yourself?

Well now you can with "Immersive Manager".

"Immersive Manager" allows you to tweak every aspect of where and how the
"Immersive Mode" should work on your device.

You can either define a global "Immersive Mode" which will be applied system wide.
Or if you wanna go further you can define the "Immersive Mode" per-app.

The following options are available and can be applied individually:
Full -> Will hide both the status bar and the navigation bar
Status -> Will only hide the status bar
Navigation -> Will only hide the navigation bar
None -> Will leave both system bars visible

No root required!
No draining background services!
No hacky or buggy overlays!
Just a simple and clean user interface which applies your settings in real time.

In order to make "Immersive Manager" work the WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS permission must be granted.
Normally this permission is only granted to system applications because it allows the app to write system settings.

If you're device is rooted you can grant the permission from inside the app with just one click.
Otherwise you have to do it manually with a simple ADB command.
You will find a detailed tutorial inside the app.

There's also a super handy quick settings tile to switch between "Immersive Mode"'s

The internet permission is used for analytics only.

"Immersive Manager" also offers support for Tasker view broadcasts.

5 ★Great! You do need to be somewhat savvy, but the in-app instructions help much. I used lifehacker to get quick adb. I didn't change the PATH, because I found it superfluous.

2 ★My screen stays black after locking and unlocking the phone.... had to force restart many times.. using Razer Phone 2. Other then that issue this app is really nice.

5 ★It works perfectly as advertised! Tested on Android 9. Featurer request (some of your competitors have them): Please make an option to disable auto-hide mode and enable persistent notification (to access this app and disable).

2 ★Immersive mode doesn't actually give you any screen real estate back at all, it just hides the status bar. The black space above the app is still present. This is basically just for burn in protection, kind of misleading app description.

3 ★Worked alright, too bad I was a bit too eager to get the paid version when later I found out Tasker has this option. No possibilities to get a refund, bummer...

5 ★Works as promised. Easy set-up if you have some basic adb knowledge. And now I can use my entire screen and hide the status bar. Thanks :)

1 ★This app doesn't extend your display, it just removes the status bar information. I installed this thinking it would make it easier to use scrolling apps by giving me more screen realestate, but all it ACTUALLY does is remove the status bar info, YOU STILL GET A NICE THICK BLACK BAR

5 ★Dark mode does not seem to be working on my Huawei T3 and after navigation bar is hidden without using any button it still behaves as it was shown, but I understand that there are limitations, so still a good app

5 ★Instructions to set up worked perfectly (although had to look on web how to enable developer mode). Was able to set a single app to get rid of nav bar, just what I wanted!
