*** PLEASE NOTE: While this app is still useful to many, it has not been updated in several years and I have no plans to update it in the near future. It works on most phones but as Android evolves some features are becoming difficult to use as intended. Specifically the menu button appears to be unsupported on some 5.1 devices and checkboxes have changed in such a way as to make them hard to check in Android 4.4.4. Facebook, LinkedIn and other non-gmail users: This app may not allow you to manipulate contacts in non-gmail accounts. Download the free version of Contact Remover and try deleting a contact to see if it will work for you. Different phones work differently and I can't possibly test them all.
NOTE: Users who are reporting lost contacts may be merging or moving contacts into accounts that don't allow editing outside their own app (like Facebook, LinkedIn and perhaps Skype). Contact Remover Plus happily writes to these accounts but when the account is synced the data Contact Remover Plus wrote is deleted by the sync process. If you want to move or merge into a non-GMail account, please test it first with the Copy function, then sync and make sure the copied data is still there.
Duplicate finder can match on name (including nicknames), full or partial phone number (like without area code), and email address. You control what gets merged and what doesn't. Use this to safely remove duplicates without losing data.
Based on the popular free app, Contact Remover, the "plus" version includes power features to get your contact list really cleaned up and trimmed down:

[1] - A user has reported running out of memory using the Find Duplicates function on a phone with 20,000 contacts. While the app is reasonably efficient in memory use now, it cannot currently handle a database of that size. The app has been tested with 10,000 contacts, though the exact content of the contacts and the number of duplicates can also affect memory use. Your milage may vary. This note probably applies to about 2 people on the planet who have that many contacts ;-)
[2] Access to SIM contacts is not handled uniformly on all phones. If accessing SIM contacts is important to you, please try that right away and refund if it fails. I'm working on better SIM support.

Download Contact Remover Plus APK file from ApkClean, then follow these steps:
Update Phone Settings
- Go to your phone Settings page
- Tap Security or Applications (varies with device)
- Check the Unknown Sources box
- Confirm with OK
Go to Downloads
- Open Downloads on your device by going to My Files or Files

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

5 ★This app is very helpful in cleaning up all the duplicate entries that crop up in Contacts, especially when dealing with the Waze app. I probably have deleted several thousand contacts that came from Waze
1 ★Samsung Galaxy s5. I've used the Pro version to merge my contacts on two previous phones. The app worked fantastic... I loved it. I would have given it 5 stars but I got my Galaxy s5 and there's no menu button. I uninstalled/reinstalled and still nothing. I can't get at Merge and I have 1500 contacts I need to fix. Please fix. Thank you :)
5 ★I've always wanted to optimize my contacts and merge them into Google. I found this app to give the optimal and best solution for this problem and any other contact management issue.
5 ★I've tried A dozen approaches for android, Google, or Outlook over the last few days, nothing worked. This one does, and does it correctly. It makes a big list of what it finds (it finds ALL similar entries - I had about 130), shows you all the details, you select/unselect which you want, click go, and everything is fixed. Worth ten times the price easily.

2 ★Doesn't give an option to delete duplicates. I've merged a few times and although it isn't foolproof (it even days so in the app) somehow over the years it's left me with over 10,000 contacts. Ten THOUSAND. I'd rather have an option to delete rather than merge.
5 ★I had a disk crash and had to restore from a backup. There were up to eight copies per Contact. This app did and incredible job of cleaning up the duplicates. It thankfully does not repeat fields which was my biggest fear.
2 ★After loading ap I can't find the menu button so I can't merge contacts. This was the whole purpose of purchasing this product. It may be the version of android I'm running. 4.4.4. Please update program to support. Also please give an option somewhere to request help.
2 ★The app works sporadically. Sometime it works, but a few times it caused the "merged" contact vanishing. Please fix the problem.
5 ★Must exercise caution when using this app and read the instructions carefully. When used correctly, it is awesome.
