Surah ini terdiri atas 110 ayat dan bercerita tentang beberapa orang pemuda yang tidur dalam gua bertahun-tahun lamanya. Selain itu terdapat pula beberapa buah cerita dalam surat ini yang semuanya mengandung pelajaran-pelajaran yang amat berguna bagi kehidupan manusia.
