Description
At present 24 courts are functioning in Manjeri Judicial district which are situated in various locations in the district such as Manjeri, Malappuram, Tirur, Perinthalmanna, Parappanangadi, Ponani and Nilambur.Three Additional District and sessions Courts are functioning at Manjeri. The Additional District and Sessions Courts I and II started functioning with effect from 7.9.2002 as Fast Track Courts (Adhoc). Additional District and sessions Court III, started functioning with effect from 7.1.2005 as Fast Track Court (Adhoc)-III. Subsequently the name was changed as Additional District & Sessions Court-I as per official memorandum No. D3(A)-84379/2007/D7/A of the Hon’ble High Court of Kerala dated 3.8.2013. As per the Government Notification G.O.(Rt) No.2427/2013/Home dated 2.9.2013, the Additional Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal. Addl District and Sessions Court I has been designated as “Special Court for trial of cases relating to Atrocity and Sexual Violence against women and Children”.
A special court for the trial of offences under SC/ST (POA) Act cases started functioning at the Commercial Complex buildings of K.S.E.B, Manjeri with effect from 23.02.2013. A motor Accident claimsTribunal is also functioning at Manjeri.
