Description
The new Track Precision App 3.0 is completely redesigned and includes many improvements for the use on the racetrack.The Porsche Track Precision app is available with the Sport Chrono Package equipment option and Porsche Connect for the following Porsche models:
- 991/981 GT from model year 2015
- 991 II/982 from model year 2017 (from calendar week 45/2016)
- All 992 derivatives
- Cayenne, Panamera and Taycan from model year 2022

Overview of functions:
Automatic lap time recording
Thanks to precise GPS data, lap times can be automatically recorded.
You can select your desired track from over 200 predefined race tracks worldwide or simply create your own.
Recording of precise vehicle data
The Porsche Track Precision App is connected via the Porsche Communication Management system or a special app control unit with various control units and records accurate data from the vehicle sensors.
Live displays
Two live views are available while driving on a race track:
- Lap timer: Clear display of the lap time with real-time deviation to a reference lap recording as well as the predictive lap time
- Drive at your limits: Reduced display of your current and possible learned performance.
Video analysis
Use your smartphone while driving to record videos for subsequent analysis. To obtain an additional view point while driving, a second video can be added, for example, from another smartphone camera or action cam.
Videos are available to view on your smartphone directly after driving – enhanced with useful driving data to improve your performance.
Driving performance analysis
By connecting to the vehicle sensors, the app enables you to analyse additional driving data which can be compared with previous laps, allowing you to improve your driving performance, for example, in relation to the steering angle, braking pressure and the position of the accelerator pedal. Videos and driving data can also be exported to your PC for detailed analysis.
Sharing with other drivers
Share your driving experience with friends through social networking sites.

The full range of app functions is only available when you drive your vehicle on tracks closed to the public that are supported by the Porsche Track Precision App.
Secure your smartphone in a holder designed for this purpose. Park your vehicle safely before operating the application or viewing evaluations and analyses.
The accuracy of the displayed values, evaluations and analyses cannot be guaranteed as conditions can vary.
The use of GPS via smartphone can decrease the smartphone battery life if the phone is not connected to the vehicle charging connection.

The map editor and analyses based on GPS data are not available in China and Turkey.

2 ★hi, camera was working, but now the phone is restarting. with version 3.16 the PHONE IS CRASHING, freezing, and restarting when i activate the GPS. The car connection is fine with my Porsche 981 GT4, when gps is off. I see the Tyre pressure as example. I still use my Sony Xperia X Compact with Android 8.0.0.

3 ★Keeps losing wifi connection with Samsung S8. Good app when it works. Wish there was a way to share local tracks.
2 ★Updated May 22 '17" I am still trying to use this for autocross data acquisition, especially seeing user input, using a VBOX Sport as an accurate external GPS, which independently logs the GPS data. The app is getting better, but still unusable, and I cannot find anywhere to get official support for it. It is important to put the phone in airplane mode, then turn on wifi to get the car data, and if you're getting external GPS, bluetooth. The phone GPS is not accurate enough for autocross. Exporting that to 'Circuit Tools' on the PC showed a course that flattened slaloms and had right-angles in the supposed car path! Once you make a 'track' you cannot really edit it, such as to move the start or finish, so for autocross you'd need to make a new track each event, and if you delete a track, all records from it are deleted with it. The video, when it works, has nice user-input overlays. Sometimes I find it only starting several seconds after the start, or stopping before the end. The app-recorded GPS data is not as good as the VBOX source, with breaks, even if getting bluetooth from 12" away. version 2.01.1. is still a weak toy for android...
1 ★Tried the app this week on Laguna Seca with a 2015 991 GT3. Wifi connection to the car worked without a problem but it would never detect that I'm near/on Laguna Seca so despite me selecting Laguna Seca as the track in the list it would always say "Select track". I made sure GPS was connected and worked (I tried both eternal and vehicle GPS).At one time it finally realized that its on Laguna Seca and let me proceed, I pressed " start" and went on my first lap but it didn't record anything. Nexus 5 on 5.0.2
1 ★Great concept, but app failed to record anything. Car connection and track selection worked for me, when I selected record, app didn't record anything, however it consumed gigs of storage space on my phone. Nexus6 running 5.0 and Moto X.
