Virtual Volunteer is the official parkrun timer and scanner application and it is free to download for volunteers to use at a parkrun event.

It is easy to use with a very simple interface.

Scanner and timer data can be submitted directly to parkrun using a QR code supplied by the Run Director on the day.

1 ★Can't scan on my Nokia

4 ★Mostly great. One problem we experience. Our volunteers rarely have email on their phones so they use WhatsApp to send the data to the results processor. It arrives as a text message instead of a file attachment. Please change this. Could you also disable the screen sleep mode whilst capturing times please?

3 ★Just to echo previous comments, the app currently does not work on a OnePlus 6/6T. As I discovered on our inaugural which was a bit stressful! Luckily used someone elses phone and it worked fine, but it does drain the battery v quickly

4 ★Like the app overall just one suggestion.... when scanning it currently let's us scan individual barcodes without scanning a token... hopefully it can be set up so you can't move onto the next barcode without scanning the token... then I'll give it 5 stars

5 ★Love the app it helps me when I'm timekeeping it helps everyone where I do parkrun its easier than the actual timers and scanners it self the one thing that I don't understand is the airplane mode why have the airplane mode if u have to send it on via email but I would recommend to anyone who starts volunteering

4 ★Works wonderfully on my android HOWEVER unlike on other phones there is no barcode line, I have to turn my phone sideways (to landscape mode) and then use it that way - instructions don't say this so I found out by accident after thinking it wasn't working.

1 ★Scanner is not working on Samsung A70. Can this be fixed please. The timer works fine though. I loved this app on my old phone, but struggle because of the scanner on the new phone.

4 ★Timer worked fine. I would suggest having a more obvious indicator that a split has been recorded, i.e. pressing 'split' would produce a momentary colour change to indicate the button has been pressed.

1 ★This is pointless after the update. Constant configuration error message and force closing.

1 ★Scanner does not work with LG phone (android). Camera will not be activated when 'Scan' option is selected. Camera screen remains black. And if I try to exit the app, it crashes.

4 ★Great app, works well on my LG. One suggestion: in addition to prompting you to enable flight-mode, it could also prompt you to disable (or extend) the automatic screen saver time.

1 ★It doesn't work on my android galaxy s10. It will not scan either finish tokens or runners barcodes. I have other barcode scanners on the same phone which scan both so the issue is with parkrun virtual volunteer app.
