4 ★Slightly Annoying What I would say is that it's a bit irritating how the app is so Apple centred, [eg. You cany choose which sound to ring]. So in other words if I could change one thing if would be to add more types or ringers when finding your device, for example just a basic ping, since you don't only use a phone tracker for theft; sometimes I just use it because I lost my phone somewhere in my house.
4 ★It's hard to say this is a good app when you hardly get your phone stolen, how does it handle being off or not having a internet connection for example? What if it's under a tunnel? Can batter saver mess with Prey? (Like it does for an alarm app that I tried once) I unnistalled because I had been getting issues where Android OS and Google Play Services had both been using more than 100mb of data, taking in mind I don't do updates, I disabled the logs, and I don't install things on Google play often and never on cellular data. Either a google account I have can cause this or it's an app, I am gonna start by unnistalling this and other apps and I'll update my review to say whether my issue persists or not so they can tell if this is a good app or not. The app also has crashed one day, just one day, but many times in that day. I am just gonna give it a 4 because it hasn't caused me any issues, but if this issue was because of prey, then it goes to 3, wouldn't be worth it to have prey and you already got Google, just hope it doesn't get stolen and it's just lost
4 ★Does what it says it will do! Really good app! Only wish it used a better map program like Google maps. And in the map view the screen showing you were the device is, is so large it covers most of the map itself. Also when the app is in "missing mode" the pictures it takes on a mobile device is FAR from silent. Can clearly here the shudder sound like a normal camera, and it happens so much it would be really difficult for someone to not notice.
2 ★The app has a bug. Shield OFF Button doesn't work properly. When I try to shut down the phone using power button, the lock prey screen appears. But if I turn off the screen and hold press power button over lockscreen, the prey security is bypassed and I can switch off the device. Once this issue is fixed this app will be worthy of 5 star.
3 ★App phone locate GPS really sucks. Map says accurate within 180 meters (?). That's a lot of distance. And my location to the map is WAY further than that. By the way:. 1. There is NO WAY to turn off the location bubble and just show where the app says I am. 2. My on screen icon indicates a "message" in the app, but there is NO MESSAGE AREA.
1 ★The prevent power off feature continues to be broken in this version. Not only that, this version also forces the same useless password screen upon rebooting the phone. Since it won't accept any valid password, it effectively disables the phone completely!!!. Luckily I have some basic knowledge and was able to manually remove Prey from recovery mode, but anyone else is doomed!!!. You must fix this ASAP!
4 ★Great app. Had it installed on various devices for years. One slight issue with the android version is that there is no on-screen "return to full report" button when viewing a screenshot or camera picture. The stock "back" key logs me out straight away. Am I missing something?
2 ★Actually Unlock issue isn't a big problem. That is a great feature though. Initially I worried but later I found a solution that by pressing multiple buttons of the phone we can restart the phone and unlock it. And I found the feature useful as no one can switch off the phone on theft. Unless it is switched off we can find our phone. Rating 2 star as u removed the feature otherwise even 5 stars is less to prey. So please bring back the feature.. I hope it in the next update. Thank you
1 ★Other reviews say it all. Completely broke the shutdown protection, which was a PITA & caused some serious concern when it made it take forever to boot back up, after I STILL managed to get it to shut down (though it took a while) even despite Prey trying to prevent it & then some. & now can't access settings since it's not accepting my PIN. All this on top of the fact it constantly crashes if it doesn't have network access, which makes me question just how reliable it could actually be.
1 ★Something was not working correctly. I was getting a 401 credential error, despite using the same credentials as on my other devices running iOS and Win 10. Tried to Uninstall and reinstall a few times, same problem. So went with Google find my phone instead and it is far superior in my opinion. Even took Prey off my iOS device after this because Apples built in tracker was also more accurate in a side by side test. I do still use it for my Windows laptop though, it works for that OS fine.
3 ★Have been using Prey for years. Rest of the family use it on my advice. Last December I used the SMS services to confirm I had left my phone in the car and had not dropped it. However, SMS has stopped workingnot working which seriously reduces functionality. Security actions need to be fast and not reliant on an Internet connection. I understand it is Android 9, typical Google, but will it be solvable soon?
5 ★Overall the app is good and very useful , the only requirement is that since this app needs net connectivity so there should be a password protection for mobile data turn on and off as well as for turning on flight mode since the person stealing the phone might use these features to disconnect to internet connection so a lock should be provided on mobile data and turning on flight mode then it would be more convenient to track mobile
