1 ★is there any other news app that can provide you news WITHOUT having to sunscribe. all news items on this app is blocked due to subscribtion
1 ★Absolutely horrible since you guys started the subscription more and more news is only for subscribers and you no longer lable the articles so waist half my time . Just to find out I need a subscription. News should be for everyone to access so there for I deleted this app .
1 ★I will listen to the radio & delete this app. I cannot afford R75 a month and cannot read anything without subscribing. Sad.
2 ★I'm unable to log in via the Facebook option. This has happened multiple times now and is extremely annoying as 95% of articles are behind the pay wall now. The comments are overly moderated and there are clear anc and eff propaganda accounts used by multiple people. The style of writing changes constantly, the 95 year old "doctor" is one of them.
1 ★i will give a better rating again, as i am mostly very happy with the app. at the moment there is a 'saturday night fitness' ad on the text in articles. there is no way to get rid of it.
3 ★I love the push notifications and being able to choose what content I get push notifications for. BUT the problem is that ever since News24 introduced a paid subscription, when you click on a push notification, in most cases, it does not take you to that specific article, instead, it takes you to the home page of the app. Then you have to scroll down to find the article that interested you and majority of the time, you don't find it. If this were to change, I would give New24 five stars!
1 ★The app itself is not bad, quite user-friendly and notifications work well. What I find extremely frustrating is the new ad implementation. Of late whenever you scroll to a certain area, large ads open up in an animated fashion. This is extremely intrusive and frustrating. You end up having to rescroll and thrown from your place. I understand that ads provide revenue, and support this, but please find a static and user-friendly implementation.
2 ★This was once a great app and my primary source of news, but now it seems that ads have taken over the entire app. It's impossible to read the news, because each time an ad loads, the article jumps to it (this occurs 9 to 10 times IN A MINUTE). I am VERY disappointed in this app. Will be uninstalling it and have suggested my family and friends to do so too.
3 ★Good app. A marked improvement over the previous version. However, these are a few issues: - I keep having to set my alerts the way I had them because they keep getting defaulted. Why? Please stop resetting my alerts. I don't want to know about the Daily Lotto. I don't know if this happens because I have logged in afresh. Speaking of which ... - I keep having to log in again and again. Please keep me logged in on my devices. I don't know my password, so you're actually keeping me from using the app, which hurts the both of us. - When I am automatically logged out for some reason and I go onto a subscriber-only article, and then I log in, only the first two paragraphs are shown. To view the full article, I have to go back to the home screen, find the article, and click on it. Why doesn't the screen I land on after having logged in show the full article so I don't have to navigate away and come back? - The comments section loads up to three articles automatically, even if there are three or fewer articles. It's annoying to tap 'Show all comments' and see the same number of comments you just saw before tapping. Please fix this. - Sometimes, especially with a breaking news story, after the article, there is a never-ending white space, so you can't get to the bottom to see the comments or links to other stories. - Push notifications that contain an image cut off the text. So, you don't know what the story is about. - The ads unfortunately load after the article, so your position in the article is constantly disrupted, and you have to find your place again. Please fix this. I don't mind them (even though as a paying subscriber I shouldn't be seeing them), but they have to behave and not buffet you around the article.
1 ★I thought I was the only one with problems then I read all the other reviews. No man News24. You guys had a winning recipe with the old app. Now it freezes, resets automatically or says "you are offline". And I'm not even going to start with the 20 ads in one article that takes up an entire screen and zooms in and out of your article! And as a suggestion... ever considered a "dark mode" like Youtube etc. Much easier on the eye during night time - especially if your phone is already on dark mode.
1 ★The way ads are presented is super jarring. It's not the fact that there are ads (most understand it's a valuable funding source). The problem is the way ads rearrange text when it suddenly expands and dynamically shifts text around. I can't read like that! Rather keep the ads open from the start and keep all the article text static. Also, the subscription model could have been a lot better. Like, free to read, pay to comment. Not this.
