In order to provide customers with convenience, VINSmart’s free mobile app lets the user speak the VIN, or take a picture of the vehicle’s VIN barcode, instead of manually entering the VIN on a PC or phone. However, manually entering the VIN is also an option.
By accessing vehicle history data compiled by the Department of Justice, through their multi-year effort to create the NMVTIS database, VINSmart protects consumers from fraud and reduces the use of stolen vehicles.
