Diese App beinhaltet die elektronische Version der Therapiestandards und Chemostandards in der Gynäkologischen Onkologie und Senologie der Kliniken Essen-Mitte (KEM), welche mittlerweile in der 12. Auflage vorliegen – weitergeführt aus den Wiesbadener und Karlsruher Vorgängern und ursprünglich aus dem Therapiemanual der UFK Freiburg der 80er Jahre. Die KEM-Standards enthalten diagnostische Schritte und Therapie-Strategien, wie sie bei Patientinnen mit den häufigsten Malignomen, die wir behandeln, zum Einsatz kommen. Einerseits bietet diese App somit ein Nachschlagewerk zu Diagnostik, prätherapeutischer Abklärung und Therapieindikationen- und konzepten. Anhand einer übersichtlichen Menüführung und einer Suchfunktion können Schlüsselstellen einfach aufgefunden und diese ggf. in einer Merkliste gespeichert werden. Andererseits umfasst diese App eine komplette Liste der relevanten Chemotherapieschemata der gynäkologischen Onkologie inkl. Applikationschemata und Begleitmedikation. Die App wird komplett auf das mobile Endgeräte geladen und kann daher auch im Offlinemodus verwendet werden.Die KEM-Standards können und wollen nicht nationale oder internationale Empfehlungen ersetzen, sondern sind in Auseinandersetzung mit diesen als Adaption für die KEM entstanden. Medizin ist dynamisch und neue Erkenntnisse können neue Therapiestrategien begründen – manchmal auch abweichend von der Zulassung einer Substanz. Deshalb wird der behandelnde Arzt immer verantwortlich sein, die jeweils aktuell bestmögliche Behandlung für die sich ihm anvertrauende Patientin zu wählen, insbesondere wenn Therapien im Rahmen eines individuellen Heilversuchs gegeben werden. Die KEM-Standards können nicht als starre Vorschrift gelten, sondern sind als Orientierung zu verstehen. Für jede Patientin muss geprüft werden, inwieweit Abweichungen aufgrund individueller Gegebenheiten notwendig sind.
