The SHINE 2018 Medicare Plans app is designed to be useful for initial Medicare plan selection and comparison by Florida SHINE trained Medicare counselors.Information provided by the application is derived from USA wide databases supplied in Excel and Microsoft Access format on the Medicare.gov and CMS websites. Information for available plans has been extracted for Florida-only to reduce database size.
An individual county is first selected and then the plan type, MAP, SNP, or PDP is selected. A drop-down list of all available plans is displayed along with cost, contract, and plan identification data. MAP and SNP plans provide detailed, top level information that is identical to the information provided in the Medicare.gov comparator for individual plan benefits.
