Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

5 ★An excellent app which has been perfected over many years. One wonders why our licence fee money is being frittered away developing and marketing a whole new and totally inferior BBC Sounds app. If you're a fan of BBC content, as I am, this is definitely the app you need. The alternative will frustrate and disappoint you, and you will quickly uninstall it.
4 ★Worked perfectly for me. Now replaced by far inferior BBC Sounds app which loses the ability to choose high quality download, dark mode not available , less intuitive interface. Harder to navigate. Why replace what wasn't broken. I just hope they improve the new Sounds app because as it stands it is a very poor replacement for this BBC radio player app.
5 ★I absolutely LOVE iPlayer radio. Find it easy to navigate. As a stroke survivor I need to challenge myself but with iPlayer I find what I want and save to 'My Radio' a feature which I find perfect for me. Have no idea when the BBC closes down iPlayer and all content will be on 'Sounds'. Find 'Sounds' a bit of a jumble.
3 ★BBC iplayer Radio was crashing constantly at the beginning of December, so much so that I ended up installing "BBC Sounds" :-/. (which plays, but the UI isn't as user friendly as BBC iplayer Radio). I uninstalled BBC iplayer Radio for a couple of weeks and have just reinstalled and it seems to be working just fine. I'm holding back on the *Stars* until I've been using it again for a while! 🙂🙏🏼
1 ★Why is this app still available as it no longer works? I downloaded it hoping it might be a viable alternative to the Sounds app - which is not compatible with my older version of Android - but I wasted my time.
2 ★It's not a bad app as it'a simple to use and easy to navigate. The only problem is as soon as it's near a bluetooth device that it has been connected to at some point it automatically re-onnects to it and plays. This even happens when I have closed the app down and disconnected it from the sorce. Not great when you get in your car and it decides it wants to play via the cars bluetooth when I'm trying to make a call. Have to delete the app and re-install it then delete it when not in use. Grrr
5 ★It will be a sad day when the BBC pull the plug on this great app, it is far more user friendly than the awful Sounds app-all because the BBC want to appeal to the younger audience. I detest the Sounds app, too bright & difficult to find what I want to listen too. The poor reviews suggest I'm not the only one.
5 ★Please DO NOT finish this app amd move everything to Sounds. I have given the new Sounds a couple of tries as I thought that it woukd be improved after a few months and it is still USELESS. The only change i woukd like to see on this app is for the number of episodes to be shown - eg 1/4 for first of four episodes. Otherwiae this is an easy, intuitive app that I use daily and would be very sad to see it go.
2 ★Much harder to use than radio player, sorry BBC but you got this wrong! I have had to upgrade my phone to use it at all and am seriously underwhelmed. Hard to find things. And what happened to the Auto-play feature? It's a pain having to go to each episode of a series to get the next bit, especially if you have to stop what you are doing, get down from a ladder etc.
5 ★iPlayer Radio app is brilliant ! Tried "Sounds", & find irritation over some aspects of that, so VERY pleased that Radio is retained. I'm 75 & enjoy lots more listening; Esp World Serv & R4. Prefer on a Note 9. It has sufficient volume to be clear as a "radio" without headphones. Downloads are ace! When the phone/kettle/door/loo, or any minor task - or some missed detail have interjected to interrupt flow, I just tap centrally to pause, or/& easily get back appropriate back seconds or minutes.
5 ★My most frequently used app. As an avid bbc radio listener; this app is 100% perfect. Excellent genre & search functions, autoplay, info, black background is ideal for evenings & bedtime, start where you left off last time, alarm. This is the perfect platform to listen to all ny favourite programmes and discovering more - makes 'sounds' look amateurish.
5 ★This app is brilliant especially for radio catch-up service. Layout is clear and intuitive. Written information for programmes tells you exactly what you need to know about the shows. PLEASE DO NOT replace this app with BBC Sounds but run both of them. BBC iPlayer Radio is suitable for Android 4 phones whereas BBC Sounds is not. Some licence fee payers do have the means or desire to replace our phones.
