Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

2 ★This review is intended as constructive feedback for the developers. The helmet itself is fantastic, but the app needs some more work to be useful (at least to me). For me the main benefit of the app would be automatic notification that the helmet and/or remote need recharging. I consider this a primary safety feature, since a lighted helmet with a dead battery is no better than a regular helmet. I am using a Nexus 5 phone running Android 6.0.1, and app version 2.3.4. With this combination, the tracking of helmet battery level only works if 1) the Lumos app has access to location information, and 2) ride tracking is active within the app. This would not be a problem, except that with location access enabled the Lumos application eats my phone battery - it reduces usable battery life from around 2 days down to less than 8 hours (which is impractical for me). And this is using Android's "battery saving" option for location tracking. To be clear, unless the Lumos app has access to the phone's location tracking and is actively tracking the current ride, the helmet and remote battery statuses are not getting updated (meaning no low battery notifications). Needs fixed I think.
1 ★Won't find my phone. Searching, searching, searching. You need to connect to do that! You need to connect to do that! Searching, searching, it's a useless app. Glad I spent so much money on this helmet. Not at all happy. The first helmet I bought from them from their first Kickstarter campaign one of the LEDs went out very quickly I contacted them and they replied to me was they'll buy better equipment next time didn't help me then sure as hell ain't helping me now I'd stay away from these guys
5 ★I'm trying to get my helmet hooked up
5 ★I have found a fix to the helmet connection issues on newer Android versions. Instead of pairing the helmet in the app; set the helmet to pairing mode, go to Settings>Bluetooth> Add Device, your helmet will appear as an available device, tap it to pair. Reboot your phone and you are good to go! P.S After pairing, the helmet must be turned on BEFORE opening the Lumos app
5 ★Works like a charm. Especially on late commuter rides home in winter. Wish I could figure a better way/position to mount the indicator buttons on the handle bars. Needs to be under my fingers rather than having to reach for it.
5 ★Love the matrix helmet! The animation lights are awesome! Wish there was an option to create your own animation light! I like that you can pre set which animated lights you can store on the helmet, wish there was an option to cycle through all the animation without having to set them as a pre set. Overall great product!
2 ★Unable to update firmware with Galaxy S6 Android 7.0. Helmet lights visible and effective only for about 25 meters in sunlight but highly visible between dusk and dawn. Battery life not enough for a full day of riding. So I use this only in town for short trips.
4 ★Firmware update fails every time on a new Kickstart from version 2.5 to 2.74. The helmet powers down after 5-10% of the progress bar with a message of "OPERATION FAILED". Update: After several phone restarts and numerous attempts the firmware successfully transferred to the helmet.
5 ★Had several firmware issues to try and get the helmet up to date, but the customer service was really quick and helpful and we managed to find a solution (tried using a different phone) Its great that I can program some new features now, and track my rides!
2 ★Lumos c'mon for the price of this helmet you guys still have not fix the issue of newer phones running Android 10 and having problems pairing, smdh well I've been having this problem since I purchased the matrix 6 months ago and was able to program my matrix through my galaxy tablet s4 only and I would like to be able to program my matrix through my galaxy note 10+ when is your "TEAM"! fixing this long over due issue and as soon as you fix this trust those 1 stars will become 5 stars??
1 ★this app drives me crazy! I open it and then it gets frozen. And then I can't close the app! I uninstall and reinstall and it doesn't make a difference. I love my helmet but HATE the app.
3 ★Definitely not a seamless connect for androids. Also complete access to phone is required with no privacy statement. Given current legal situation in HK this is a bit concerning. Works well once obstacles overcome.
