The app requires a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth or Bluetooth 4.0 (Bluetooth LE) OBD2 ELM327 compatible adapter (device) to work. ELM327 devices plugs into the diagnostics socket in the car and gives your phone access to car diagnostics.
Recommended adapters brands: OBDLink, Kiwi 3, V-Gate, Carista, LELink, Veepeak.
If you buy one of the cheap china OBD2 ELM327 adapters from ebay / amazon, then make sure it’s not marked as v.2.1. This adapters are supported, but they have lot’s of bugs.
PLEASE NOTE: Vehicle ECUs vary in the amount of sensors supported. This app can’t show you something, that is not provided by your car.
Attention "bad" adapters! We faced the problem, that some adapters (often cheep Chinese clones), can’t connect to the smartphone or the car. Some of them can even make your car engine work unstable, often lost connection, increase time lag when reading data.
So, we recommend you to use genuine ELM327 or recommended adapter brands.

5 ★Bought a BAFX Bluetooth obd2 scanner on Amazon, went through the many different car scanner apps available and pretty much all of them were buggy, had a terrible UI, and never seemed to just give me a decent user experience, just headaches. Pretty much all but this glorious app. Many props to the makers of this beauty. The free app does so much more than anything else I've found, made it a really decision on who would get my money and my business. Keep up the good work you beautiful bastards. Lol. But in all seriousness, if you are reaching this wondering if you should get/try this app out for yourself, the choice should be easy. Most definitely worth every cent, and more. Highly recommended.
3 ★Not a bad app. I like that everything is customizable (like the gauges on the dashboard). The app only has two problems: 1) After a period of time (about a month on average) it shows that your trial has expired. The problem I have with that is there is nothing about this being a trial in the "read more" section on Google Play Store. 2) There are options to backup all of your gauges and recorded data, and there is also an option to export it. Unfortunately they missed an import feature, so it does you no good if you have to change your phone. I just spent 45 minutes reconfiguring my gauges. That sucks. Fix those two problems and the rating will go up to five stars.
5 ★There was a little learning involved, with this free app, but it worked great. To clear a fault code, you have to turn the motor off, log out of the connect feature in the app, and then log back in with the connect tab. It took a couple of tries to get that right. Plus, my cellphone showed that I was paired, but did not say connected, but as soon as I went into the app. All the sensor data was there. By comparison, the torque-lite app was a completely useless, waste of time, and I couldn't even change the units from celcius to Fahrenheit, as many ways as I tried. Whatever the reason, I think the Car Scanner developer deserves kudos for putting his best foot forward, and the few extra bucks he asks for his other full feature pro app, or whatever it's called. Next time I log in I plan on rewarding him for his efforts.
5 ★I tested almost a dozen Bluetooth OBD2 apps, and this was the only one that successfully cleared my Check Engine light! The interface and information it provided was intuitive, and understandable. It also decoded the cryptic engine code that all of the others could not, pointing out the exact problem that my mechanic told me was an issue. Hands down the best of lot. Thank you for making a great app!
5 ★I tried a few other OBD2 apps before deciding on one, and this one was by far the best & easiest to use. In fact I couldn't get the others to work on either Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Seems that for this kind of app Bluetooth is the way to go. There are too many variables with Wi-Fi & not needed anyway. For only a few $ the upgrade definitely worth it. The live data graphs are easy to understand, & with the upgrade you get to use more variables simultaneously. Download of data is also useful.
5 ★I found this the most useful of the four I've tried. It connects to my ELM WiFi scan tool reliably and fast. Others either could not connect or did so after a lot of work. Also, it has several options for resetting codes. It also can graph live data in real time as you drive. I only wish that I had more in depth descriptions of the code resetting options. I paid the $4 for the full version.
4 ★It's a good app for what it does. I had some difficulty connecting initially with Veepeak but after trying multiple times following the instructions it worked. Now it connects pretty fast. I use it mostly for the live data as it exceeds the limitations of my handheld scanner. My only gripe is that I can't see the full list of PIDs. I was hoping specifically to see the Camshaft Adv Angle B1 and B2. It never populated even in the pro version. The list looks exactly the same as the free version.
5 ★Very useful OBD2 app! The screen layout is intuitive and easy to understand. The free version has the functionality I was looking for, but also had a demo of what was possible with the Pro version (genius idea). The free app worked so well that I decided to upgrade to the Pro version so I could see more data streams simultaneously. The recording feature allowed me to study the data streams of what was going on with my car in the comfort of my living room. Job well done guys!
4 ★it's a solid enough app that I actually bought the pro version. I use it with a cheap bluetooth code reader (less than 20 bucks) and I really wasnt expecting it to work but it hasn't failed me yet. This app will show just about every sensor on your vehicle, great for watching mileage and fuel consumption as well as acceleration time. You know, for diagnostic purposes 😉
5 ★the free version worked so good I decided to pay the small fee to support the developer. app works great, no problems connecting with 2 different Bluetooth modules. the layout is simple and easy to use, and has all the data readouts I need and they update fast. improvements I'd like: option to not have exit app warning, also, in that warning remind to remove OBD device. also, in the live data graphs the current data font is too small.
5 ★Had a check engine light come on my car a couple months ago. Connected to my bluetooth OBDII device quickly and easily. Got the codes in a few seconds and was able to diagnose the issue and make repairs. Having an older, higher mileage car I need a quality app to help me keep this car running as noce as it does. The free version of the app is perfect but you guys deserve the $ for the paid version. Thank you!
5 ★This is by far the best free OBD2 scanning app. It had no problems connecting to my $20 OBD2 Bluetooth scan tool, much better than the other apps that I have tried. Easily reads and resets codes. Display of real time data is instantaneous and can be displayed in different graph forms or as gauges or text and high and low thresholds can be set to alert you. An upgrade to a Pro version is available and has a sliding payment scale in the app that lets you choose how much you pay depending on how good you think this app is. This shows how much confidence the developer has in their product and believe me it's excellent.
