Description
‘Uromate’ is een patiënt-gerapporteerde uitkomstmaat (PROM) gebaseerd op de Experience Sampling Methode (ESM) of Ecologische Momentaire Evaluatie (EMA). ‘Uromate’ is specifiek ontwikkeld voor de beoordeling van symptomen bij patiënten die urologische klachten ervaren.De meest belangrijke onderdelen van ‘Uromate’ zijn:
• Elektronisch rapporteren van urologische klachten
• Herhaalde metingen
• Real-time metingen
• Metingen tijdens het dagelijks leven
• Opeenvolgende metingen van omgeving, sociale en psychologische factoren.
De app is ontworpen op een manier dat deelnemers wordt gevraagd om een elektronische evaluatie in te vullen, meerdere keren per dag, op willekeurige momenten, gedurende zeven aaneengesloten dagen. Iedere evaluatie wordt voorafgegaan door een hoorbaar signaal en evaluaties zijn identiek tussen alle momenten. Omdat ‘Uromate’ gericht is op real-time symptoom evaluatie, zal iedere evaluatie na het hoorbare signaal slechts 10 minuten beschikbaar zijn.
Na het voltooien van ‘Uromate’ binnen een week, zullen onderzoekers en/of dokters toegang hebben tot een gedetailleerd overzicht van het klachtenbeloop samen met dagelijkse levensstijlfactoren, zoals omgeving, sociale context en psychologische status. Deze data kan helpen bij het vinden van (individuele) patronen en verbanden tussen klachten en factoren die van invloed zijn, wat daaropvolgend kan leiden tot beter begrip van de symptomen als ook nieuwe ideeën voor symptoom behandeling.
‘Uromate’ is momenteel alleen beschikbaar voor deelnemers die meedoen aan een onderzoeksproject met het doel om deze methode te valideren bij patiënten met een overactieve blaas (OAB), wat momenteel loopt in het Maastricht UMC+, Maastricht.
