FAÚNDEZ Gourmet empresa artesanal ubicada en el corazón de Aliste, enclave natural privilegiado, formado por una gran masa forestal, rodeada de sierras, valles y parajes de incalculable valor ecológico y afortunados por su extraordinaria riqueza micológica, inicia su andadura con acierto allá por 1982 de la mano de María Blanco y Manuel Faúndez, pioneros del sector en la provincia de Zamora.En ese marco incomparable inicia su actividad exportando el producto en fresco a distintos paises de la UE. Inmediatamente amplia su actividad con distintos procesos de elaboración como el ultracongelado, el deshidratado y las conservas artesanas.
En 1996 recibe el "Premio Mercurio 1996 al mejor comerciante del año". reconociendo así su buen comienzo.
En 2012 en el "IIICongreso Internacional de Micología 2012" la Consejería de Cultura y Turismo de la Junta de Castilla y León rinde un sincero homenaje a Manuel Faúndez Rivas, fundador de FAúNDEZ Gourmet agradeciéndole su ingente labor en favor de la micología.
