O “Jogo da Bernuncia: O Auto do Boi de Mamão”, desenvolvido pelo Museu de Arqueologia e Etnologia da UFPR através de projeto de extensão universitária, permite ao jogador protagonizar a Bernúncia, um dos personagens presentes no tradicional Auto do Boi do Mamão, em uma brincadeira onde esse monstro de tecido engole as crianças que participam do folguedo.Com uma jogabilidade semelhante ao famoso jogo SNAKE, o jogador deve “devorar” o maior números de crianças que conseguir, enquanto evita ser atacado pelos Tichipás e de engolir os marinheiros que tocam os instrumentos das cantigas que acontecem durante a manifestação folclórica.
Com origem nas brincadeiras com o boi feitas nos Açores, o auto é encenado na região litorânea do sul do Brasil. O nome remete às origens do folguedo, quando então a cabeça do boi era representada por um mamão verde.
O auto encena a lenda de que crianças não batizadas são comidas por um monstro. Nas encenações, ela “devora” as crianças, que entram por sua boca e saem pela cauda.
