Description

Roaming Guard keeps track of when the phone is roaming. This is very useful since the user does not have to worry about roaming. Just setup the Roaming Guard once and then leave the app running in the background and don't worry about data costs. The typical user is the one that crosses the border often while commuting to work.

Android 4.4.4 and lower versions:
When roaming and the network hasn't been approved during the setup, the phone will automatically turn off the data connection. When the phone is again connected to a network that has been approved, it automatically turns on the data connection.

Android 5.0 and higher versions:
Due to permission changes on the android platform it is not possible to turn data connection on and off automatically. Therefore the user will be informed via notifications when roaming happens on an not approved network. The user will then have to turn off the roaming connection manually.

As an additional feature the app has caller ID information. This is a feature that shows who is calling even though the number is not in users phone book.

1 ★Good idea but not working on my phone. It does not even detected that my phone was roaming. No notification when I switched manually to an operator from the country that wasn't on the approved list.

5 ★This is a really useful app. Ignore the comments saying that it is a glorified roaming switch. It does much more than that. When you have entered the list of countries where you can roam free of charge you can leave international data roaming turned on in Android and this app will enable roaming when you connect to a network in one of the allowed countries and Turn Off Data Roaming for you whenever you are connected to a network in a country not on the approved list...

3 ★"it is not possible to turn data connection on and off automatically" - Roaming control app can do this, so it should be possible. Or?

3 ★if national roaming could be disabled, it might be worthwhile , until that, it is just a fancy "disable data roaming switch" that is available in default android settings.

5 ★Shows a warning when you are roaming in a country or on a network not on your approved list, so you can avoid extra fees. Clean user interface.

5 ★this is just a note to myself in case I forget and decide to re-install. It's not really what I am looking for.

5 ★This is really an excellent app. I am often near the border during work hours where my operator has pour coverage and therefore tend to change network and then roam. This used to be a problem that would cost me extra. But roaming guard solves this by warning me when roaming or not. And as an extra plus it has caller identification when making or receiving a call. Big thanks to developers for making this app!

3 ★Roaming Guard warning popped up when I was driving with google map and blocked the map! All this happened when my roaming switch was off! Sometimes I really need to turn on roaming and pay for the data but this app keeps popping up and wasting my time! Not suitable for my use.Instead, I need something to show me if it is roaming or not and if so , do I want to pay for it. And perhaps have an option to turn of roaming in 5 minutes or so.
