Ilmu AlHikmah pada hakekatnya adalah merupakan keilmuan warisan Rasulullah SAW. kepada Sayyidina Ali R.a. dan juga para sahabat yang kemudian disebar luaskan oleh para Wali Allah, di belahan bumi ini, termasuk Wali Songo dan Syech Abdurrauf As Singkly di Aceh.Sebelum bernama Al Hikmah, seni beladiri Islam ini dipelajari oleh KH.M. Thoha (seorang polisi zaman belanda), yang juga merupakan sesepuh perguruan Sin Lam Ba.
Kemudian dari Abah Thoha, dipelajari oleh KH. M. Syaiki Abdul Syukur sebagai seorang santri dan jawara betawi. Ilmu beladiri Al hikmah yang lebih di kenal dengan sebuatan "Seni jaga diri Al hikmah" ini berkembang pesat dan diperkenalkan oleh Abah kyai HajimM. Syaiki Abdul Syukur bin Sartawi setelah sebelumnya melengkapi keilmuannya dengan belajar tauhid kepada Abah KH. M. Amilin Bin H.Sarbani (Mama Amilin Abdul Jabbar), guru spiritual bung karno, proklamator kemerdekaan RI, pencetus nama burung garuda, pada lambang negara RI tersebut.
