Description

This app uses the Bluetooth 4 to connect to Dash and Dot and then interact with them using B lockl y on both phones and tablets running android 4.4+

It is not meant to be a replacement for the great WW apps!

Cool Things
===========
* Uses the same colour scheme as the official app so children can transition from this app to the official without problems.
* Event, Drive, Sound, Logic and Music Blocks, variables and sensor data all implemented.
* Multiply Toolboxes, click the orange"Toolbox" button to toggle between WW toolbox and a toolbox containing standard blocks.
* Blocks for function calls and variables are also located in the second toolbox.
* Load and Save the multiple workspaces.

Limitations
===========
* This is a work in progress so not all the same blocks are present.
* There is a Wait Block in the control section so you can program the robots to wait after each sound.

Controls
===========
Use the The "Load" and "Save" buttons to save and load multiple workspaces.
Use the grey "world" icon to change language

The "Run" button executes the program. Click "Stop" to cancel current program.

How to install Blocklify APK on Android phone or tablet?

Download Blocklify APK file from ApkClean, then follow these steps:

Update Phone Settings

Go to your phone Settings page
Tap Security or Applications (varies with device)
Check the Unknown Sources box
Confirm with OK

Go to Downloads

Open Downloads on your device by going to My Files or Files
Tap the APK file you downloaded (com.dcsdb.blocklify-v0.0.33-ApkClean.apk)
Tap Install when prompted, the APK file you downloaded will be installed on your device.

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).

5 ★The Official Application Blocky from WonderWorkshop simply cannot be installed in my Android 5.0.1 Nexus 4. But this app here works beautifully! Connects to the robots, allows me to program them. With this app I now have robots. Before, all I had was a remote control toy. Perfect! An amazing win from the developer community! Thanks!

5 ★The app from Wonder Workshop does not work very well and crashes all the time. Therefore this app is a better alternative and it is even more responsive, pretty fast and has more features - i.e. save your programs. Good work

5 ★The app works well on my Samsung Galaxy S4 smart phone. Connects easily, doesn't crash, and programs well. At last, my kids are happily learning to program the robots! As a Kickstarter funder, I thought "Android support" was going to mean far more than just a few devices. None of my kids' tablets nor my smartphone made WW's cut. After months of waiting for WW to port Blockly to Android, I read lately they deem smart phones' screens "too small" for implementing Blockly and don't plan to port it. What a huge disappointment! I hope your app encourages them to reverse that decision. Blocklify works just fine on the screen of my Galaxy S4. Sure, it's not as spacious as a tablet, but the screen scrolls both ways, and my kids (ages 10, 6, and 3) have zero trouble manipulating the blockly pieces in that space while making longer programs. Great work! This early version of Blocklify lacks motor controls, and a future version with them would be awesome. WW is only sharing the API with a closed group of alpha testers presently. When they shift into open beta testing, developers should have access to the API. Keep up the great work.

4 ★So much to like about thus app so far - easily connects, stable connection, save and load functions, run from device without pressing a button on the robot, additional commands ...several things aren't working yet like Drive commands, and I couldn't get variables to do anything, but when it's built this will be the Dash and Dot app you really want.

5 ★Simply just works. Although you can't move dot, you can do more sophisticated code compared to original Blockly app.
