心血管疾患患者に対する有効かつ安全なカテーテル治療の開発と発展、及び臨床研究の推進とその成果の普及をもって、診断治療技術の向上と学術文化の発展に資することにより、心血管疾患の予後改善の責務を広く社会に果たすことを目的として開催されます。
約3,000名の医師・看護師・技師および医療機器メーカーや製薬メーカーの参加者があり、国内のみならず海外からも1割程度の参加者があります。日本全国の循環器医師のみならず、海外の著名な医師による講演もあり知識と技術の向上の一端を担うことを目指しています。
