ศูนย์วิทยาศาสตร์ฮาลาล จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย เริ่มต้นโดย รศ.ดร.วินัย ดะห์ลัน ใน ปีพ.ศ.2538 ในรูปห้องปฏิบัติการวิทยาศาสตร์ขนาดเล็กในคณะสหเวชศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย โดยพัฒนางานด้านนิติวิทยาศาสตร์ฮาลาลขึ้นเพื่อคุ้มครองผู้บริโภคทั้งมุสลิม และมิใช่มุสลิม ขยายตัวเติบโตขึ้นเป็นลำดับ ได้รับการประกาศเกียรติคุณว่าเป็นหน่วยงานด้านวิทยาศาสตร์ฮาลาลแห่งแรกในโลกศูนย์ฯ พัฒนางานด้านวิทยาศาสตร์ เทคโนโลยีและนวัตกรรมฮาลาลอย่างต่อเนื่อง ขยายเครือข่ายครอบคลุมงานวิทยาศาสตร์ฮาลาลหลายสาขา กระทั่งได้รับรางวัลระดับนานาชาติหลายชิ้น มุ่งมั่นดำเนินงานเพื่อความปลอดภัยด้านกายภาพและจิตวิญญานของผู้บริโภค มุสลิมทั้งในประเทศและทั่วโลกตามแนวทาง “ชารีอะห์รับรอง วิทยาศาสตร์รองรับ”
