Description

Use the SynScan app to control Sky-Watcher telescope mounts via Wi-Fi, USB or Bluetooth LE. Mounts without built-in Wi-Fi can be supported via a SynScan Wi-Fi adapter.

This is the Pro version of the SynScan app and contains features suited for expert users using equatorial mounts.

1 ★This app crashes every other time I try to use it.

1 ★The app crashes every time I try to open polar align.

1 ★Using this with Virtuoso GTi mount and it refuses to align properly.

1 ★Won't run on my Pixel 3a at all. [Several years later]: Won't run on my pixel 7a either. Had to buy the hand controller. Orion needs to hire an intern to fix this. It's ridiculous. Use a friggin AI to fix the code if necessary. Make it work on Android.

3 ★Edit 10/202: type and UI now work, but I've given up and went to NINA. Edit 11/2023: Had to drop it to one star as it now doesn't allow me to type in the target, looses tracking (even though it's allegedly connected) and the text in some windows is black on black. It's almost unusable. Rarely have I seen a worse app. Original 2022: The UI in all over the place and very unintuitive but once you get used to it, it's not that bad.

1 ★Pixel phone running Android 14 connects fine to AZ-GTI mount WiFi but frequently freezes and locks up. Only way to recover is to close the app which loses all alignment, total pain. I have noticed this seems to be related to using the search function when selecting stars, works ok initially but becomes unresponsive after second or third attempt. Also white screen flashes between app screens. Just not good enough.

2 ★Why would you not include a dithering option when controlling the shutter release on a dslr? My 2i supports this feature. Not supporting dithering means I'm forced to either return my GTi, or invest more money into an asiair and incorporate guiding

1 ★I really really wish I would've read reviews of this app before I purchased a skywatcher virtuoso gti 150p. I've watched tons of vids and researched online of how to align and use the telescope. Even after aligning with Saturn and the Vega star, the app won't even go back to either if I tell it to. The arrow keys to manually move the telescope don't work as well. The goto function of my telescope is worthless. I would've been better off buying a nicer 6" dob without goto. App is poorly optimized

4 ★update: now all the issues have been resolved. Crashes on start on Android 11. Please, fix it. According to the release note for 19.0, it fixed Android 11 crash. Why don't you update the version at the play store?

5 ★I'm using this app with an AZGTI in AZ and EQ mode. It works fine. In Eq. mode, you can align the mount without seeing the polar star, which is quite useful. I also use it for piloting my DSLR (EOS 2000d) and I do not face any problem.
