Description

The SynScan hand controller is now available as an app on your smart device. Use this app to control the AZ GTi mount or other Sky-Watcher or Orion telescope mounts fitted with a SynScan Wi-Fi adapter.

This is the Pro version of the SynScan app and contains features suited for expert users using equatorial mounts.

This app supports ASCOM on Windows PC. Driver can be downloaded from www.skywatcher.com or www.telescope.com

How to install SynScan Pro APK on Android phone or tablet?

Download SynScan Pro APK file from ApkClean, then follow these steps:

4 ★Far better than using the hand controller, however, there is an issue with tracking. After initiating a Goto, the mount will track the target for a few seconds and then stop! To overcome this you need to find where it says Point and Track after the Goto slew. It has been reported on SGL that it does this on the Star Adventurer and another Alt-Az mount. It does it on my AZ-EQ6 when I use the Wi-Fi dongle and in Alt-Az mode. Seems to work fine though in equatorial mode. Edit 07/09/18: It appears to have had an update recently. Not checked if the point and track thing still needs doing. However, after a 3 star alignment it always fails! I always pick 3 easy recognisable stars so I'm not mistaken. Done a 2 star alignment last night and it was flawless with Goto afterwards. Still at 4 stars until it's sorted!

5 ★Great program, I think. I just cannot find any objects in sky. Alignment goes ok with 3 stars but then it cannot find even the moon.

5 ★Great APP. Better than the synscan hand controller IMO. Couple Suggestions... 1) Search for items by name in addition to catalog number. 2) If possible, add satellites (TLE support) with tracking. I know not every mount can do this but the slewing speed on most mounts is fast enough to track without modification. 3) Prevent sleep / UI screen lock while app open. 4) Hold/disable touch button in the app until a swipe or coded tap is conducted. This way if you put your phone in your pocket you won't accidentally start controlling the mount but you don't have to turn off the screen.

5 ★Using this to control a new Sky Max 102 AZ-GTi which I bought as a grab andgo telescope. I'm using on an Android 7 mobile and everything is great,connects immediately and does everything I want now that the app team hasexplained. For example to use point and track you have to select a targetfrom one of the menus then click on track. Activating solar tracking isdone from the advanced menu.
