Das kann die App:Mit der App „Was ich esse“ kann ich festhalten, was und wie viel ich den Tag über gegessen und getrunken habe. Der Produktkatalog enthält über 700 Lebensmittel und Speisen mit Bildern. Falls trotzdem etwas fehlt, kann ich es selbst fotografieren, einen Namen geben und es hinzufügen – natürlich erscheint das neue Produkt nur auf meinem persönlichen Smartphone.
Die „eingecheckten“ Lebensmittel werden automatisch in die Ernährungspyramide des BZfE einsortiert und in ein Wochenprotokoll übertragen; denn nicht jeder Tag muss perfekt sein, sondern die Woche zählt.
Ich entscheide selbst, ob ich mich an den wissenschaftlichen Empfehlungen der Ernährungspyramide orientiere oder eigene Schwerpunkte setze. Wenn ich bestimmte Lebensmittel oft zu essen vergesse, kann ich mich daran erinnern lassen.

Was ist die Ernährungspyramide des BZfE?
Die Ernährungspyramide ist ein einfaches und alltagstaugliches Modell, mit dem jeder sein Ess- und Trinkverhalten prüfen und optimieren kann. Sie ist wissenschaftlich abgesichert und berücksichtigt den eigenen Geschmack und individuelle Gewohnheiten.
Die Ernährungspyramide zeigt, welche Mengen pro Tag von den einzelnen Lebensmitteln empfohlen werden. Sie besteht aus Bausteinen und ist in drei farbige Ebenen unterteilt. Die Ampelfarben zeigen, ob die Lebensmittel reichlich, mäßig oder in geringen Mengen gegessen oder getrunken werden können. Jeder Baustein steht für eine Portion. Die Portionen werden mit den Händen abgemessen.
Die App arbeitet mit dem Handmaß als Portionenmodell; das heißt kein Kalorienzählen und kein aufwändiges Abwiegen. Was kompakt ist und in eine Hand passt, entspricht einer Portion, zum Beispiel ein Apfel. Kleinstückige oder zerkleinerte Lebensmittel, wie Brokkoliröschen, werden mit zwei Händen zur Schale geformt abgemessen. Das Portionenmodell, aber auch die Ernährungspyramide und die einzelnen Lebensmittelmittelgruppen werden in der App mit vielen Abbildungen erläutert.
