Description

Android TV does not by default have a user interface for setting up Enterprise Wi-Fi networks. These networks, use the Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP), a framework for authenticating your device with the Wi-Fi network by providing both a username and password.

These types of networks are common at businesses, where only particular users should be accessing the network, or at universities where content is audited.

As stated above, though there is no user interface for connecting to these networks, the system has APIs for programmatically connecting. To aid those in the situations above, this app provides a useful interface for making connections.

There is another app that fulfills this need on Android TV, although I have found a number of issues with how it works.

*Features*

* Connection details can be saved and updated
* Automatically fills in fields where possible
* Shows logs of connection status to show you progress is happening
* Can display a QR code of the network to connect your other devies
* You can also use it in your home to show off the QR code to let others connect to your Wi-Fi network

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

3 ★God bless you, it works. However there are some spots which deserve improvements. 1) app crash/closes immediately if I am already connected to other "known wifi" (unfortunately I am not able to remove/forgot it, there is no UI TV wifi settings for it :( as work around I have to turn off and on whole WIFI and connect as soon as possible. 2) app in log should show IPv4 address which I need for adb connection
1 ★Crashes immediately on starting.
5 ★I would have killed for an app to do this a few years ago. In college, I had to set up an ad hoc network off a laptop to use my Nexus Player in the dorm because of the PEAP authentication used by campus wireless. Even though I no longer need this app's functionality, I'm still giving it 5 stars for existing (even if it won't even start on my phone with WiFi enabled).
