Leo Waldy merupakan Pria kelahiran Jakarta, 31 Juli 1958 adalah pemuda ‘Betawi’ dari orang tuanya yang bernama ‘Sayuti dan Waty’ memberikan nama cukup indah sebagai ‘Waldy Hermansyah’. BerKiprah sudah dimulai sejak tahun 1970an sebagai pencipta lagu kepada sejumlah penyanyi Melayu dimasanya, sebut saja Elvy Sukaesih, Wiwiek Abidin, Laily Dimyathie, dll, masih menggunakan nama ‘Waldy S atau Waldy AS’.Kiprahnya sebagai pencipta lagu, pernah menyodorkan sebuah lagu kepada penyanyi Elvy Sukaesih berjudul ‘Bumi Makin Panas’ diiringi The Big Kid’s dimasa thn.70an, dia juga pernah berlatih vokal di sekolah yang dikelola 'pak Simanungkalit' bersama beberapa penyanyi lainnya ‘Zwesty Wirabuana, Hetty Koes Endang’ atas biaya dari ‘Dian Record bapak Adi Nugroho’ yang menaruh simpatik padanya dimasa tahun 1976.
