In 1947 is het allemaal begonnen in de smederij in Thesinge onder de rook van Groningen. Met de komst van de NAM en het aanleggen van de gaslocaties in het noorden van Nederland heeft Kampen haar roots in de olie & gasindustrie liggen.Door de jaren heen is het bedrijf gestaag gegroeid en hebben we inmiddels op 3 locaties in Nederland vestigingen. De onderneming is begonnen als familiebedrijf en doordat de huidige directeur tevens groot aandeelhouder is, heeft het gevoel van een familiebedrijf nog steeds een sterke boventoon.
Anno 2013 is er gekozen om de naam “KAMPEN mechanical group” als groepsnaam te kiezen voor de verschillende onderliggende vennootschappen. Het hoofdkantoor in nog steeds in het noorden gevestigd en inmiddels hebben we ruim 80 eigen fte’s en een flexibele schil van gemiddeld 15 medewerkers.
