Description
Eatvisor is a free mobile app that provides insight into the quality of your diet. Taking your personal requirements into account, the app checks the energy value and nutrient content of meals that you can easily assemble from foods and recipes. Eatvisor guides you towards improving your eating habits by providing friendly, personalized tips.The app utilises food composition data collected from scientific resources and with your help. Food can be searched either by barcode or by name; an image-based search option is in preparation.
The recommendations for assessing the quality of your diet are based on national and international guidelines and recommendations for healthy eating.
The current version of the app is intended for healthy adults. An upgrade is in preparation that will also cater to children, patients, pregnant and breastfeeding women, and athletes. This upgrade will also enable easy remote connection with a chosen nutrition expert.
The development of the app is carried out at the Jožef Stefan Institute and is based on the Open Platform for Clinical Nutrition (OPKP). Existing OPKP users can register in Eatvisor with their OPKP username.
