What comes to mind when you think of home? What does home really mean?
Every day we consider what home means for us and our neighbors. For many in our communities, home is quite literal. People need shelter.
But more than that, home embodies the pursuit of belonging, connection, and community—a sacred space where individuals thrive, families flourish, and neighborhoods prosper.
Drawing inspiration from the biblical call to “build homes and plant gardens” even in the midst of exile, we are reminded of our collective responsibility to foster peace and prosperity within the places we dwell. Guided by God, we seek to co-create spaces of belonging and transformation—building not just physical structures, but vibrant communities where everyone feels at home.
This year at CCDA’s National Conference, we’ll look at home in all its facets and invite you to consider what it means to be home. From individual houses, to our families, communities, neighborhoods, and churches, from the built environment to the natural one—we are all looking for a place to call home.
