Kader Keamanan Pangan Desa (KKPD) merupakan sumber daya manusia yang berperan dalam memberikan edukasi kepada komunitas desa dan merupakan ujung tombak dari Gerakan Keamanan Pangan Desa (GKPD) yang diusung oleh Badan POM sejak tahun 2014.Hingga saat ini sudah terbentuk lebih dari 3.000 KKPD yang tersebar di 390 Desa/Kelurahan di seluruh Indonesia. Sehubungan dengan hal tersebut peran KKPD harus ditingkatkan sehingga KKPD menjadi produktif.
Untuk meningkatkan peran KKPD sebagai pengelola dan pengawas keamanan pangan bagi komunitas desa maka dikembangkan aplikasi Kader Keamanan Pangan on Android yang berfungsi sebagai wadah peningkatan kapasitas kader, dengan tujuan untuk pertukaran informasi dan kegiatan keamanan pangan antar kader dan pengelola program Gerakan Keamanan Pangan Desa (GKPD) di Badan POM dan Balai Besar/Balai POM.
Aplikasi ini diperuntukkan bagi seluruh kader keamanan pangan baik Ibu PKK, Karang Taruna, Guru dan PKP/DFI.
