PreventR™ wird von Gilead Sciences GesmbH (FN 278577 y) bereitgestellt und ist für die Verwendung durch PatientInnen in Österreich bestimmt, denen ein PrEP-Medikament versschrieben wurde.Die App ist zur Erinnerung and die Medikationseinnahme für österreichische PatientInnen, die von einer erfahrenen Ärztin / einem erfahrenen Arzt ein Medikament zur Präexpositionsprophylaxe (PrEP) einer Infektion mit dem humanen Immundefizienz Virus (HIV) verschrieben bekommen haben, gedacht.
BenutzerInnen der App können Erinnerungsfunktionen für Tabletteneinnahme, Arzttermine, Verschreibungen und vierteljährliche Tests (HIV und andere sexuell übertragbare Infektionen) einrichten und nutzen. Außerdem können sie ein PrEP-Tagebuch über Einnahmezeitpunkte, Verschreibungen und Testergebnisse führen. Eine Kontaktfunktion ermöglicht das Speichern von PrEP-bezogenen Kontakten. Die App ist mittels PIN, Touch ID oder Face ID (je nach Gerät) gesichert.
