The Palestinian Academic Society for the Study of International Affairs (PASSIA) is launching its fully-searchable Palestine Directory as an Android application.The Palestine Directory is one of the most valuable sections of the PASSIA Diary, which has been an indispensable reference for many institutions and individuals, both locally and abroad, since 1988.
The Palestine Directory is a reliable, comprehensive listing of contact information for local and foreign organizations and businesses operating in Palestine, as well as selected Israeli and Palestinian-Israeli organizations. With an app on the phone, users will not have to carry the PASSIA Diary everywhere in order to have access to the information they need; the app’s instant search option enables users to find any contact detail available in the directory easily and in no time.
The Palestine Directory’s contact information includes names of contact persons, phone and fax numbers, e-mail and mailing addresses, websites and brief statements about the main fields of work of each organization. Its entries cover a wide range of group listings organized in 30 categories with more than 50 sub-groups. Headings in the 2013 edition include:

The information contained in the PASSIA Directory is unavailable anywhere else. Yet, in order to make the Directory as comprehensive and useful as possible, information will be revised constantly. Existing information will be updated and new listings will be added to the app for free throughout the year and customers will receive updated versions on a monthly basis instead of waiting for the next year.
In addition, the app will include a summer of the latest statistics on Palestine including population, economy, education, etc.
The Directory’s practical uses for customers from abroad are even more obvious; for instance, they will be able to set up appointments before they even arrive in Palestine.
