1 ★Grint needs to hire some good UX designer. This app is probably very useful if people figure out how to use it. But the app is so complicated. The UX is not intuitive at all. It took me youtube video and google search to be able to enter a score from the GPS mode. I still haven't figured out how to look at previous score details or edit past scores.
1 ★2nd review: They offered me 6 month extension on pro-membership. Honestly didn't care too much because I thought the basic free member version would be good. Man was I wrong. You get the GPS, rankings, trophy room. However the one fundamental (I think) that is not included is, I cannot see my friends scorecards, what they shot on what hole and other stats. A damn shame these guys are so cheap. Considering deleting this app and going to another. Too many problems and put it simply disappointd 😤
2 ★I really want to love this app, like others have said it had great potential. Used it for the first time live on a course and on the back 9 keept on getting network lost even though I had a mobile connection. Also the Trophys do not update. For example it says my best round is a 98 even though I have a 93 on one of my scorecards. Makes me wonder if the other score cards are not are not going into my statistics
5 ★This app is pretty straightforward. As a novice selling improvement this is a fantastic tool that is really helping me improve at every level. Also it's super easy to keep score with. It's really fun to tell folks "nah, I don't need the scorecard." Also saves paper, if anyone cares about that. But what a great tool for learning, sharing and improving. I really love the GPS too, and shot tracking is a fantastic feature.
3 ★Great app but it can glitch out using the GPS. Also the new version on the Samsung watch doesn't transfer to the phone to upload. It's really handy to have it on the watch but if you lose everything it really defeats the purpose. They fix the bugs and get the score to post from watch to phone then it's a 5 star.
2 ★Fundamentally one of the most unintuitive apps I've used. Every screen is cluttered with unending buttons and functions, 95% of which the average golfer will not use or know what its for. I'm not sure if this is an app to navigate a golf course or to keep in touch with all of your friends across the globe that play golf. Long story short there's at least three other apps that are better. I'd go with 19 birdies.
5 ★Terrible. Couldn't even get past the login screens. Whomever is responsible for this app needs to be replaced immediately. UPDATE: Following this review, I was immediately contacted by (Customer/Tech) support and the issue was INSTANTLY resolved...literally within minutes. GREAT! I've updated from 1 to 5 stars for three reasons. 1) Amazing responsiveness and help by the support team! Give me confidence in the company. 2) Outstanding functionality. From easily getting my handicap to extremely helpful stats and trends that are giving me valuable insights about my game. 3) It's just damn fun to use. As if I need another reason to hit the links, I'm actually playing more because it's so fun to see the data. If I have any complaint, it's that this app does SO much it's sometime a challenge to discover/find and use what you're looking for...especially for a new user like myself. Functionality vs. easy is always a tricky balance...but hopefully they will continue to make this more simple as they add new features. GET THIS APP!
5 ★Edit: I'm not sure which recent update did it, but GPS performance is drastically improved. It's like using a whole new app. Can fully recommend the app, changed from 1 back to 5 stars. This app is great, GPS works very well now, including on wear os watch. Scoring input on my watch is fantastic, and I love that you can have partners attest your round and get a real handicap. Awesome app all around.
5 ★It's a 5 star app. The convenience of keeping your stats and your handicap is great. It's a great tool for improving how you play the game. I had some issues when I upgraded but that was due to my purchase coinciding with the world handicap changes. They were responsive and professional. I will be a long term member of THE GRINT!
4 ★The GPS range finder is free and accurate... you can spend some money for the upgrades but i didnt. The free features are good enough to use year round. Images of the hole layout could be better/ more enhanced. But quality is good enough for playing a casual round with friends.
1 ★Turned off all my notifications and I still get emails when I put a score in. Click on email link to change notification preferences on website. All turned off. You can't figure out basic notifications settings? App itself is ok, 3-4 stars, does not do anything special over other golf apps, only using this for handicap and will be changing after the year because of the notification issues.
3 ★It's okay. As a golf professional, I can point out quite a few things I would improve. For one, I would like to be able to run games for an entire event. I have a group of about 16 players that play skins, and this app only allows skins within your playing group. Another thing that would be cool is if you could take a picture of your scorecard and have it auto populate fields for quick entry.
