5 ★This app is great at keeping your scores and stats, and calculating your handicap. The best part is the accurate GPS on course. You're probably not good enough at golf to fight over the one yard difference between this app and other apps or lazers. It's cool to be able to connect with your buddies and keep track of other games within the round...but again it's a free golf GPS
1 ★Was a great app for GPS and scoring. Using the phone on the course however is not practical and therefore I specifically bought a smartwatch for my Android phone (wear os) and it worked great with the app. However, they did an "update" in September and then app stopped working on the watch. Response from 18 birdies support - "team has decided to focus efforts on improving the playing experience in the app, which includes discontinuing support for all Wear os." I have switched to another app.
1 ★GPS no longer working. I joined premium for the "more accurate" GPS because it was too slow finding my location. It seemed to help for a while, but recently it started showing my location for a split second and then moving me over into the houses surrounding the course and not correct itself in any amount of time. Please fix....Samsung S9. Its a great app, but 90% of the reason i have it is GPS. I will adjust my rating to 5* when fixed.
5 ★This golf ap has all of the necessary information/tools to make the best choice to play your best! The interface is very intuitive and easy to keep track of your entire game without taking you 'out of the mental golf zone' of staying focus on the task at hand. After more than 50 posted rounds, I can absolutely recommend that 18Birdies is worth every cent to purchase to use all of the features!
1 ★It has a lot of good free perks but the basic function of this being a GPS for distances failed miserably. Every hole I played the app would stop refreshing resulting in distances not updating in a timely manner. There were multiple instances where the app rendered back to the tee box for distance while I was on my second shot after the tee.
5 ★Great app! I haven't used a paper score card in over a year and my buddies all use it now so we can see each other's scores just like if we were using paper. GPS seems to be fairly accurate considering the limitations of using a phone (I normally use a laser). Recently had an issue a glitch in the app, I emailed the support and they got back to me with a fix in 5 minutes, I am extremely impressed!
1 ★So much potential to be a phenomenal app, but the best statistic-taking features are way too expensive, the GPS costs me multiple strokes each round, and I feel like I'm battling with the interactive features on the golf course, which is time consuming. Had this app for almost two years now, do I've been patient... Waiting to NOT write this kind of review.
5 ★Update. Fast corrections to reported errors. Have not found and for quite a while. One of the best free apps around. To bad the handicap feature only tracks in the premium version now, but still a good app. Primo if handicap was active. 2016 review: Live in the DFW area. There are too many courses with so many errors in the course data that you can't enter rounds correctly. Takes forever to get replies from support and updates on courses. Don't understand how these errors are made or why they don't get fixed. 5 stars if you would just get this simple issue resolved.
5 ★I'm giving a 5 for the growth and potential of this app. It's great what it has evolved into (paid version) but its potential is much bigger. As more people use and sample sizes grow, the comparative stats will become increasingly accurate. The individual stat tracking is easy and valuable. The AI coaching is interesting and something I look forward to trying, I can see huge potential. I love what 18 birdies has done and very excited about the vision they have for the future of the app! 4 hcp
4 ★Been using a few years. Started game yesterday and when I tried to enter score on first hole, it would minimize every time. Tried restating game, app and phone; nothing worked. Had to reinstall app today, which seemed to work. But not convenient to do that when playing a game...argh! We'll see how it goes for awhile before editing my rating or switching to another app. Looks like there was a patch resolving the issue...back up to 4 🌟 .
3 ★The GPS works great but there is way too much going on. The "feed", the pop ups wanting me to buy things, the scorecard popping up for the first two holes, choose your tees. it's all too much. I get it, trying to be more than just GPS but I know I'm not alone in just wanting GPS. Please, please, please, give us the ability to turn off the extras. Give us an option to just have simple, quick, easy GPS.
5 ★I love this app! Distances are accurate and premium features like caddy and plays like distances are very helpful. I love the new goals feature, it will automatically set goals for the round based off what your scoring goals are. This is by far my favorite golf app I have used. Thank you for listening to my request and developing an app for my samsung watch too, I use it all the time!
